Connor was hesitant about the latter, considering the Kurgan had resurfaced and was coming after him.
Brenda: "He wasn't exactly the most open guy I've ever met, you know? I mean, I know New Yorkers aren't known for being friendly, but he sorta took the cake. And yet there was something about him I just couldn't resist."
Connor's friend Kastigir was in New York as well...and fell victim to the Kurgan, only pushing Connor's buttons further.
Eventually Connor faced the Kurgan and defeated him. (He cheated! echoes from somewhere down the hall.) Connor was romantically involved with Brenda, until her tragic death in a car accident just a couple of years later.
In the early 1990's, Connor once again showed up in Duncan's life to confront Slan Quince, who was coming after Duncan. Quince cheated and nearly got Connor, but the elder Highlander was a quick thinker and escaped over the side of a bridge. Duncan ended up fighting and defeating Slan, as well as pulling Connor from the river.
Duncan grins: "He owes me too."
