The sun shines
The window is a blur;
Years of dirt and weather
Constrict my view.
The trees are bare,
The ground is frozen,
Seemingly frozen in time.
The sky is blue and clear
No clouds – no sign of weather
All is still; all is silent.
The birds have flown from their nests
Hear them do I not.
Everything is so cold,
Yet beautiful is it too.
Strange it is,
How something so cold,
How the month of February
Can be so bright and beautiful
When the sun
Peaks her head
Over
The horizon
To bless everything,
Inanimate or not,
With her warm, loving arms
The way a mother holds, comforts
And loves her child.
Amazing isn’t it, how
Something so unbreakable can seem so fragile,
And something so fragile can seem so unbreakable.
Darkness is peaceful
So is brightness
In the same way
They are both so very frightening.
Something so frozen
Is so beautiful…
Like a day in February
So cold
It is peaceful
Everything is so contradictory,
It’s all the same
Equally and universally connected
All of this is life.
Life,
Cold,
Frozen,
Beautiful,
Universally bound.
Live it,
It’s yours;
All yours
