          Holy Shit!

          I can't believe this semester is over already! It has been so much fun, and amazing. In April, we began work on a Play called: R 4-Rat, beginning with a day where we followed Gr. 7/8 students around to their classes and asked them what topics they would like to see in a play. The topic of ratting and snitching came up the most, so that's what we based our play on. Our director, Naomi, then assigned roles to us which she thought would be best fitting according to our personalities. I was given the role of Sierra, one of the five main characters. That was fun being one of the main characters. Our tour started on May 23rd, and went right through until June 12th, performing between one and two shows a day, with our gala performance being on June 13th. The tour had it's ups and down... I'll tell you:

          The first week or so of the tour was pretty cool, despite the arguments on the school bus between schools. However, in the middle of the second week, one of our members was kicked out of the program, the reason I'm not going to elaborate on. But, we didn't find out until about five minutes before we were supposed to perform, that they weren't coming. So, at the last minute, blocking, and roles were changed. I took on one of her roles, as the mother of one of the other main characters, Cole. That was quite interesting to say the least.

          I suppose I should tell you a little bit about what the play is about. Well, it's basically about four former friends, Sky, Sierra, Nile and Cole who go a party, and something happens to the host of the party, Joseph. The four other friends struggle with the decision of whether or not to tell the police what really happened at the party. It is a very layered play, one that was a lot of fun to be a part of. There are a lot of metaphors involved. It was just an amazing process.

          The tour finished offically, June 13th, with a gala performance at the Harbourfront Centre (not that most of you know where that is). Holy crap, that was amazing to actually perform in a professional theatre like that. And it was pretty much a full-house too!

          After this touring experiance, I think I can safely say: "I know how Hanson feels!" All of the kids loved the show, and some even asked for our autographs! It was so cool to actually sign autographs! I've never really done that before. I felt so special. It was just absolutely amazing, and Hanson has my never-dying respect... If we had arguments on the bus and we were only on it four times a day, I have no idea how the hell Hanson copes being on a bus for four and five months at a time. Kudos to Hanson!

          Anyway, that's all for now. I've been looking for a job, and I'm hoping to get one soon, because there is an electric guitar that I've been looking at. It's similar to Ike's desert-burst guitar that he used for Rock N' Roll Razorblade in concerts. Yeah... and it's only $125!!! Can't wait to get a job so I can buy it! Teehee!

          Okay, now that's all. I will talk to you guys later!

But, Until then,
Lots of Hanson Love,
Taike Care,
Jen =^-.-^=
