Oh. My. God. Wednesday was a shitload of fun! I'll tell you how it all went down:
The morning was nothing but rehearsals for the Paprika Festival, a Drama Festival my Drama Co-op was a part of that night. We were the opening piece. Rehearsals were quite stressful because my partner for my scene wasn't there, and I just wasn't getting too into what had to be done. Let's just say I'm glad for Hanson... At lunch, they kept me from blowing my top completely.
Lunch was uneventful, but in the afternoon, my partner showed up, and it was made complete with more rehearsals until about 3:00, then we broke to have dinner and stuff before going to the Tarragon Theatre. Five of us, Breckon, Bright, Joseph, Tyler and myself went to this really nice and cheap restaurant... I had lasagna, mashed potatoes and gravy and salad for $10. And it was really good and really filling. While sitting in the restaurant, I told Tyler about a story that I am writing. He liked the idea, and now he wants to turn it into a play!!! I am very excited about that. Plus, it is giving my more insentive to actually work on it. You guys will see the first chapter once I get it finished, and typed up. I hope you guys will enjoy it.
After dinner, we all made our way to the Tarragon Theatre where we would later be performing. After getting my guitar as close to in-tune as I could get it with everyone talking, I had to attempt to relax enough to do the show. It was quite intimidating despite the fact that there were only about 40 people there. And to make matters worse, my parents, grandmother and friend were sitting front row. And I had to sing the chorus of a song I am currently trying to finish writing.
My major part of the 20 minute play, was an argument between myself and my "husband" with our son in the middle of it. It was really cool. I got so into the argument, and I got so worked up in it... it was really fun to yell at my partner. It was like it was a real argument. It was just really awesome.
I stayed with my family and friend to see the other shows after mine. They were all really good. I still can't believe that my story is going to be made into a script... That's like the hightlight of my co-op experiance thus far...
The night was really intimidating, because it was my first time performing in a theatre. But it was a shitload of fun, and I hope I get to do it again in the near future. With this out of the way, my co-op group will now be putting together another piece to take on tour to other Middle Schools around Toronto in May. I can't wait for that. The more adventures, the more I will ramble about them.
But, Until then,
Lots of Hanson Love,
Taike Care,
Jen =^-.-^=
