Name: Wolfgang "Kirby" Barwig [Bar-vick]
Name Meaning: Wolfgang is his given name from Germany,
though to fit in at school most people just call him
Kirby.
Age: 19
Date of Birth: June 4, 1984
Sign: Gemini
Blood type: A
Alignment: A confused good. He is true and good-natured at heart, but he is often temped by the love of his life to be a little bad... and he kinda likes it.
Strengths: Kirby has a strong feeling of home. While
living in Frankfort, Germany, he lived a very
"leave-it-to-beaver" type family life, something that
he takes pride in and loves very much. Not long after moving
to New Eden, Kirby and his family were caught in a
horific car accident, and all but his father survived the
wreck. Since the accident, Kirby has a strong since of
family-- his mother and two brothers are the world to
him. Another strength of his is extreme flexibility.
One of Kirby's escapes is his gymnastics and dance
team. Because of his training, he is fast, flexible,
and has incredible endurance.
Weakness: Where his strength is his family, it could
also be considered a weakness as well. Who knows what
would happen to Kirby if something were to happen to
them, good or bad. Kirby also has an extrema paranoia
around automobiles. He can get extremely uneasy
around the contraptions and does not want anything to
do with them.
Likes: Sitting on the rood and reading, bicycling,
roller blading, dancing, and gymnastics are his
favorite actives during the day. However, Kirby is
very true to the Gemini persona in that there is not
much in this would that he dosen't like. But the one
thing that he crave, he only can get at night. After
the lights go out, kirby is off into the underground
night life. Going to raves is another escape for him.
It allows him to express himself in another form of
dance, but also lets him rebel a little bit as well.
Dislikes: Having to hide his other life from his
family. He hates having to keep that from them, he
fears that he might loose his family if they find out
about his night to night outings and his lover,
Roscoe.
Greatest Fear: Losing his family, and motor vehicles.
Motivation: To make his mother and brothers proud by
being successful at school and doing well at
everything that he does, but also to find harmony with
his family and Roscoe.
Favorite Food: ANYTHING WITH MUSTARD ON IT....and
maybe ranch.
Least Favorite Food: Chocolate bars (too sweet).
What Grade: 12th
Marks: Straights A's across the board (it's what
mother likes to see).
Favorite Class: Dance, Kirby loves to express himself.
Least Favorite Class: Spanish (Third languages SUCK!
T.T)
Personality: As said before, Kirby is a true blue
Gemini; he has a night and a day. His day side is his
good boy face, though he always has it on (even at
night). He has always been the good-natured boy
scout, helping those who might need help, helping the
younger siblings with homework and such. He also
spends a lot of time on the roof, whether it is
reading or waiting for Roscoe to show up, it is by far
his favorite spot on the house.
Kirby doesn't know many people in New Eden. He has
been there for close to 5 years, but after his father
was killed, there was not a lot of time for him to make
friends outside of school (something that his mother
worries about).
The one person he does know is his boyfriend, Roscoe.
Roscoe has introduced Kirby to a side of him that he
doesn't know, to every day there is a night. Kirby's
nights are lost in raves, clubs, underground street
fights and such. He loves this temptation because it
is a feeling that he has never experienced, and it gives
him a chance to release himself. Plus, it gives him a chance to make some extra money in the underground street fights.
Appearance: Wolfgang stands at a decent 6 feet with
broad shoulders and a slender waist. His black and
dark green hair flows down thick to his mid-thigh,
though he almost never wears it down (usually only
when he dances, if then), but rather in a bun or
pulled back (leaving two long bangs that run down the
side of his face) under a baseball cap. His strong
face and his green eyes have always had an uncanny
ability to get (and keep) someone's attention. You can
usually find Kirby wearing a combination of buttoned
up shirts and ties with baggy (sometimes torn) jnco
jeans (or similar type) with his shirt un-tucked. he
likes the prep type look for his shirts, but always
have the baggy jeans on (easy for him to jump into
action to kick someone's ass, or bust into the moon
walk). At the raves, he wears a combination of sliver,
flashy shirts and pants to nothing at all. He almost
always has on some sort of body paint or glitter on
(usually both). And don't for get the Kedds!
Social Status: Kirby has his reputation as the quiet
guy at school. Most people know him (mainly the
female population, because of his looks), and like him,
but seldom is he seen outside of school hanging out
with friends because of his family.
Love Life: Kirby is infatuated with Roscoe. Because of
this, Kirby does not think very clearly. Roscoe is a
short African that Kirby meet at school. He is the
only boy that has gotten close to Kirby before. They
dance on the same team at school and began to hang out
nights not long after meeting. Roscoe has also
introduced Kirby to the underground world of raves and
such. Kirby, however, is unsure of Roscoe's feelings
for him. It is something that Kirby has ponder on the
roof for several hours under many sunsets and
sunrises, but is too unsure of himself to outright ask
him about it.
Family:
Gabriella Barwig (Mother) She works hard to support
her family these days. She has been under a lot of
emotional stress since the death of her husband,
Hans, and has been juggling two or more jobs to put a roof over her
children's heads and food on their table. She doesn't
argue much on where the extra money Kirby seems to get
time and again, or some of the bumps and bruises that
seem to appear overnight because the extra money is
always welcome. The German lady is very small in
stature, not more than 5'2 with long blond hair. Her
face is worn from stress and many sleepless nights
crying alone. She too has a scar from the car wreck,
a small gash under her left eye is a nasty reminder
for her. But she trys hard to give her sons the best
they deserve. Even though there are long days and
short weekends, she always finds time for her kids.
Every Sunday, after church, they walk down to the
local park and have a picnic next to the soccer Field
where Frank (the next boy under Kirby) plays his
soccer games. She always keeps and positive attitude
about everything (even during the funeral) around her
kids, they are all she has.
Frank [Fronk](first younger brother) is 15 years old
and is in his freshman year in high school. Ever since
the accident, he has looked up to Kirby for strength
and guidance over the past 5 years. Kirby has helped
inspire him to express himself in different ways.
Frank is the only soccer player in choir and drama.
Frank's looks come more from his mothers side, though
quickly coming up to Kirby's hight and stature, he has
the thin body and shoulders with the blond hair and
blue eyes.
Robert (second younger brother) is a few years younger
than Frank (12). Robert almost died in the wreck as
well. He spent several weeks in the hospital and
rehab after the accident. He received a horrible
wound to the head in the accident that gave him major
gaps in his memory. He does not remember much before
the accident, including his life in Germany, their
father, much less the car wreck. Kirby spends a lot
of time with Robert after school with homework.
Something Robert does has is a knack to fix things.
In his free time, Robert will pull apart an alarm
clock or something, just so he can figure out how it
works and then put it back together. His goal is to
be an automechanic when he grows up. Robert takes
more after his father (and Kirby) as far as his looks
go. For a 12 year old, Robert has a very strong face,
and the dark hair as well, just shorter.
Birth Place: Frankfurt, Germany.
Current residence: Kirby and his family live together
in the slums of New Eden.
History: Kirby was the firstborn to Hans and Gabbi
Barwig in Frankfurt, Germany. Soon to come in the
family were Frank and Robert, Kirby's younger
brothers. Kirby was always interested in the arts, and Hans would take Kirby to the various museums often.
Then, one fateful day, Kirby's father was fired from
his contracting job due to the falling economy. It
didn't take long for Hans to find new work in New Eden,
and that's where the family moved.
About 5 months after moving to New Eden(five years ago
to date), all immigration issues having been
tied up, Kirby's family (including Kirby himself) were
hit head on by a drunk driver. All were injured, but
Hans was killed instantly. It didn't take long for
the insurance money to run out, so Gabby was force to
move her family into the slums (the best house she
could find on her small income but good by the local
standards) and then take on several part-time jobs to
give her children what they needed.
Kirby took on the roll of Mr. Mom to his two younger
brothers. He made it a tradition to sit together and
do homework to help each other out, mainly Robert.
After the wreck, it has been hard for him to remember
or learn anything since. As well as helping out with
homework, Kirby and his brothers help out around the
house when it comes to cleaning, cooking, and various
chores. For living in the slums, the Barwig family
has made this small house into a warm and cozy home.
Roscoe came into the picture about a year ago, having transfered into the same dance class as Kirby. The two hit it off right out of the gate. Though Kirby
was wrestling his personal demons on his sexuality, he finally came out to himself when he realized that he had feelings for his new friend at school, Roscoe. Soon after this, Roscoe and Kirby began dating and have been ever since. Because of his family life, Kirby found it difficult to have a relationship with his newfound boyfriend, but soon found away around it.
Roscoe soon introduced him to the wonderful world of raves. This was Kirby's new release, and soon he had a passion for the underground street fighting circuit. Soon Kirby was bringing home money from the fights. Gabby often questioned the amount of money coming from "mowing lawns before school" but questioned the cuts, bumps and bruises more. For all the asked questions,
she still does not know where the extra cash comes from, though she isn't upset that it is there, ether.
Writing Sample:
"Lights out", the pleasant, yet tired, woman shouted
up the stairs, followed by the charms of 'good night's
and 'sleep tight's from the two bedrooms
upstairs where Frank and Robert slept. Kirby smirked
just a little as he finished cleaning up the dishes
and turned off the lights in the kitchen.
"Thank you,
Sweetie" she said as she gave Wolfgang a light kiss on
the cheek and continued to her bedroom on the main
floor. Kirby finished up some homework in the living
room when he heard a rustle on the roof.
*He must be here* thought to himself and smirked
again.
He put his books away in his school sack and went up
stairs to find a short African man sitting on his bed.
"Are you ready yet?" he asked, slightly annoyed that
Kirby was still in his school uniform, "Come on, we're
already late!"
"Yeah, yeah," Kirby went over to Roscoe and gave him a
peck on the lips, "Just give me a sec."
He striped down to his boxers, put on a fresh pair of
silver jnco's and then grabbed his body paint. Kirby
made various stokes along his arms, face, and chest.
After Putting his hair up into a bun (but leaving a
little hare to dangle down to his shoulders) he put on
a see-through shirt, strapped on his steel toes, and
climbed out of the window.
"You ready for tonight? I hear the guy you are going
to fight is a ruff one," the dark man said as the pair
ran from rooftop to rooftop and along the street.
Kirby stoped, turned around and looked back down
the dark street to his home.
"I have to, I don't have a choice."
Roscoe and Kirby caught each others' eyes for a moment,
grabbed each others' hands, and continued down the
street, into the night.
