NAME: Muneca "Dante" Delvidrio
NAME MEANING: In Spanish "Muneca" means "doll" in the least
complimentary terms and "Delvidrio" is "of glass". Put it all
together and you get "doll of glass" Why this particular name?
Well, mostly because it's suiting to him. Manipulated all his life,
he is little but a doll and, he is rather fragile in emotion, body,
and spirit. Still, because of all of this, he rather despises his
name and, as such, he tends to try to make people call him Dante
instead.
AGE: Seventeen
DATE of BIRTH: 31st of October
ASTROLOGICAL SIGN: Scorpio
BLOODTYPE: Type A
ALIGNMENT: Neutral, at this point, though his leaning naturally
goes toward the evil side.
STRENGTHS: One of Muneca's greatest strengths is that he's quite
strong, physically, and, in even the lowest and most base of
fights, he can more than hold his own. Also, he is well versed in
the more underhanded methods of fighting and, though he is usually
reticent to use these, he will if forced to do so. In this same vein,
he has worked up something of an immunity to pain and, even if
dripping blood, he'll likely continue on, regardless. Beyond this,
his body is also rather quick and lithe which allows him an ease of
movement and an odd sort of grace. Moving on to his personality
strengths, Muneca is almost fiercely independent and he puts very
little trust nor reliance in his fellow man. Also, should someone
manage to befriend him or strike a chord with him, then he'd likely
be as protective to that person as he is toward his siblings. Beyond
these, he is rather smart, despite how he talks and acts sometimes,
and, even moreso, he is well-versed in the ways of the streets.
Basically, he just knows how to take care of himself.
WEAKNESSES: Perhaps Muneca's greatest weakness is the fact that
he has a sharp and indomitable fear of heights and, should he be
any higher than, say, ten feet from the ground, he'll be unable
to open his eyes at the best, violently ill and weak at the worst.
Still, that's not to say that he has no other weaknesses. Certainly,
the fact that he works under Shittsui in Sodom and Gomorrah is a
great weakness, not to mention the fact that he is, as his name
implies, rather easy to manipulate and break. Also, there's the fact
that he's become quite addicted to both the fine drugs and the
quality alcohol that the club serves, as well as his more private
addiction to cutting. Further, his protectiveness toward his
siblings and his willingness to do anything for them must surely lead
him to trouble, as would the same toward anyone who'd be willing to
try to befriend him. Beyond that, his complete lack of self esteem,
as well as his deep self-loathing, serves not only as an annoyance,
but also as a deep weakness.
LIKES: More than anything, Muneca likes the peace of being left
alone and, should he be given the chance, then he'd likely do
nothing more with his time than sit quietly by the nearest body of
water or, perhaps, take a swim. For, you see, he also absolutely
adores the water, as well as any sports or activities involving water,
so he could likely happily spend hours on end just being near or in
it. Beyond that, he also loves strong storms of any variety and,
given the chance, he'd spend long hours wandering through the driving
rain or snow just to feel it against his skin. Also, he rather enjoys
spending time with his siblings, whether he just be cleaning for
them or cooking for them, which, incidentally, is another of his
great loves. On a lesser note, he also loves sports of any variety,
video games, and any music with a driving beat.
DISLIKES: One of Muneca's greatest and most basic dislikes is that
of heights and, in complete honesty, he cannot stand to be more than
a few feet from the ground. Also, despite his position and stance,
he quite dislikes Shittsui and, though helpless to do anything for
it, he would like nothing better than to kill the grinning fool.
Beyond these, he had a rather deep-seated hatred for being pitied
and, should anyone show such an emotion toward him, then he'd rather
likely react quite badly. Also, he cannot stand at all to be
protected, regardless of intent, and he tends to lash out at those
who would try to do so for him. Another thing that he quite cannot
stand is to see anyone whom he perceives as innocent being abused or
tainted and, again, he'll tend to react badly to this. Finally,
never one to believe much in a healthy lifestyle, he tends to hate to
either eat or sleep and, really, he only does so when absolutely
necessary.
GREATEST FEAR: Though heights tend to scare the life out of him,
Muneca's greatest fear, quite honestly, is that something will
happen to his siblings.
MOTIVATION: Based on that, Muneca's greatest motivation is to keep
anything bad from happening to any of his siblings.
FAVORITE FOOD: Though he doesn't willingly eat much, Muneca's
favorite food would have to be Chinese Food if just for that
fact that it was the thing he most often ate with his old lover.
LEAST FAVORITE FOOD: Really, I'd list all food as Muneca's least
favorite as, as I've said before, he honestly despises having to
eat at all.
GRADE: Muneca's a Junior in High School, eleventh grade
MARKS: Though, honestly, he's bright enough to be doing much
better, Muneca tends to bring in Cs and Ds at the very best and
Fs at the worst.
FAVORITE CLASS: Muneca's favorite class is Phys Ed, if just for
the fact that he doesn't have to do anything beyond participate
in sports.
LEAST FAVORITE CLASS: Conversely, Muneca's least favorite class
is Calculus as he tends to get confused and bored by it.
PERSONALITY:
Mueca's basic personality seems to have been
carefully crafted to drive away anyone who would try to draw
close to him. Always, his first instinct is to try to toss away
anyone who extends a hand to him and he does this through any
means necessary. He has no qualms about manipulating people but,
normally, he only does this so that he can force them away from
himself before they can get to know the "real" him. Quite regularly,
he offers those around him nicknames, often in his native tongue,
that are less than complimentary and, as long as they are around him,
he'll continue to wield this as one would a sword. More often than
not, he tends to be very sharp about things and, whether through
cunning or dumb luck, he often finds just the right sore spot to hit
with his words. No matter what authority they may hold over him,
Mueca offers no politeness nor obedience to the authority figures in
his life and, to Shittsui, he shows little but outright
disdain...even if he does rather strangely submit to being the man's
plaything. Trust is something that never came easily to Mueca and it
is also something that he will only ever lend to a person once; if
they break it when in their hands, thn never again will he offer it.
Never will he acknowledge any of the good traits that may be lurking
inside of him and, if one were to point these out, Mueca would
likely beat the person down until they could no longer even think
that he was ever good in any way. Though not exactly prideful, he
also quite hates to lose in anything and he will often do anything
that it takes to win, whether in a sport or life. Also, he will never
take pity very well and would grow quite annoyed if anyone were to
show such an emotion toward him. Never does he show much interest in
any of the things around him, except for his forays into drugs and
alcohol...and cutting himself.
The cutting is a large part of his personality; to Mueca, it is
the way to cope with the things that he cannot say, the emotions
that he cannot feel, the actions that he cannot take. Sometimes, he
sees it as the only thing that keeps him from traversing the thin
line between lucidity and insanity and, most likely, it is the only
thing that allows him to keep working as he had been, as a plaything
in Sodom and Gomorrah. Still, it isn't something that he's exactly
prideful in and, as such, he tends to try to hide this from those
around himself.
Though the aforementioned personality is the one he tends to adopt
most readily, there is another side to the boy. To the few that he
honestly cares for, Mueca is almost overbearingly protective and
he will place their happiness and well-being long before his own.
To him, his own worth as a human pales to their own to the point
that he will do literally anything to be sure that they are happy.
Still, if he were to realize that a person no longer wished to know
him, then he'd simply leave without a single word and then never
trouble them again. Still, even the fact that all his siblings,
save his twin sister, despise him doesn't keep him from doing all
that he can to ensure, in his father's absence, that they have a
good and happy life. The thing that allows this, though, could well
be the coldness that has been seeping over him more regularly lately.
After all, it is this that allows him to continue as he has been
and it is also this that has stopped him from foolishly wishing to
be fixed any longer. Well, to his conscious side, anyway...
APPEARANCE:
Though standing quite tall at a generous six feet,
five inches, Mueca seems to have no meat to him at all. The
words "lanky" and "gangly" seem to have been invented with this
young man in mind and, at most times, it seems as if he must
surely be starving himself to death. Still, it isn't to say that
there isn' t any muscle to the lad's rather wiry frame and it is
also quite a mistake to assume that there is no strength in the
length of Mueca' s limbs. Surely, beneath the baggy clothes and
ribs-baring skinniness, there is a soft and liquid strength that
could lay any who don't believe flat. Still, it is rather hard to
see that, even in the scarred length of Mueca's long and slender
arms or the subtle muscle roped over the gangly mess of his legs.
In tone of skin, he shares that most common to those of Hispanic
descent though, in some lights, he can be mistaken for a Caucasian
with a very faint tan and, as far as facial features go, he has
all those commonly associated with the human race. Though slightly
angular, the map of his face is pleasing to the eye what with his
slightly crooked nose (having been broken at one time and never
properly set) and faintly pink lips; still, most arresting of his
features would be his eyes which are a strange "almost-green" shade
of hazel and which seem, for whatever reason, to draw attention from
either sex. To top all this off, Mueca has a mane of soft and
poker-straight "girlie hair" which, when unbound, falls to just past
his shoulders though, normally, he tends to tie it back in a
ponytail. Though, by nature, a rich and warm shade of blackish
brown, Mueca's hair has recently been dyed to a dark shade of plum.
As said prior, Mueca's skin-tone is a rather attractive shade
of tan though, to be honest, it would be rather hard to see that
through the various marks and scars upon his body. Though cuts of
all depths, freshness, and size can be found pretty much anywhere
on the boy' s body, it seems that the majority of these are
concentrated on the underside of either of Mueca's arms; there
lies an intricate and old pattern of scars that mark each pain
and unsaid word that the boy had to keep inside, each punch that
he could not throw, each emotion that he couldn't show. Really,
these are as good a record of the boy's life as the timeless depth
to his strange and bewitching eyes.
Still, as far as choices in clothing go, Mueca is rather
easy-going. Naturally, he leans toward the baggiest sorts
so that he can hide away his skinny and scarred body and,
when not in the school's uniform, he tends to lean more
toward dark colors. Further than that, though, he seems to
care little whether dressed in something simple as a tee-shirt
and jeans or something so formal as a tuxedo. Really, the only
constants in Mueca's wardrobe are a long black trench coat
decorated with a seemingly odd design across the back and an
old-fashioned Celtic cross hung on a leather thong about his neck.
SOCIAL STATUS: Though he is quite popular in his life at the club,
Muneca is, in all other respects, an outsider. It's not to say
that he doesn't get offers of friendship or more, but more that he
shrugs aside such offers in an attempt to distance himself as much
as possible.
LOVE LIFE: Mostly due to his work in the club and the fact that
he's only ever known men, Muneca considers himself to be gay.
Of course, it's not to say that he could be proven wrong, but,
for the moment, that's how his orientation stands. As for having
a significant other, he doesn't have one, per se, though his
relationship with Shittsui, at times, borders on being a rather
sick and twisted example of a coupling.
FAMILY & FRIENDS:
--Mancha Delvidrio ("Stained Glass"): Muneca's father, Mancha
traveled to the new Eden with the public hope of giving his
family a better, more productive life. Still, beneath this
wish, he really only desired to move so as to escape the rumors
that had chased him in his old life, rumors of embezzlement
and underhanded business deals and having the most disgusting
relations with those around him. For a while, he thrived in
this new life and even more so when chaos seeped into the heart
of Utopia; still, guided by Shittsui's hand, Muneca killed his
father shortly after finding that the man was having improper
relations with his twin.
--Bendijo Delvidrio ("Blessing of Glass"): Muneca's mother,
Bendijo traveled willingly enough with her husband to this
new land, but, in honesty, she would have been just as happy
to be left behind. After a very short time, this restlessness
began to show in the woman and, to counter it, she submersed
herself in doing acts of charity. Still, the restlessness only
grew and, after learning about Muneca's line of work, she found
no glimmer of hope. Shortly thereafter, she killed herself and,
rather explicitly, she blamed her eldest son for this in her
suicide letter.
--Parajo Delvidrio ("Bird of Glass"): Muneca's twin sister,
Parajo couldn't be further from Muneca in disposition and
attitude. Though, naturally, she bears the same anger and
resentment toward her brother as the rest, she does much
better at hiding it and, outwardly, she seems to care for
him more than anything in this world. Really, she looks
after him like a surrogate mother and it is she who often
forces him to eat or sleep when he otherwise wouldn't.
--Barano Shittsui ("Disgraced Rose"): A rather charming if
not somewhat mental young man, Shittsui is one of the founders
of Sodom and Gomorrah and, beyond that, he is also Muneca's
boss in a rather complex and involved relationship. This
relationship ranges from the almost romantic, at times, to
the outright possessive and violent and, as is his wont,
Shittsui often manipulates Muneca to do any number of things for
him, from whoring himself out to killing people who inconvenience
him.
BIRTHPLACE: Muneca was born in Morella, in Mexico
CURRENT RESIDENCE: Though he rather despises it, Muneca
lives in a large and rather well-decorated flat which
Shittsui has provided for him. As large as two or
three regular-sized apartments, Muneca's flat covers two
floors, connected by a spiral staircase, and all the modern
conveniences that anyone could want. On the lower floor,
there is a long hallway from the door to the living room
and, on the left side of this hallway, is a spacious closet
while, all along the hall, there are hung any number of
interesting black and white photos. The living room is wide
and long, painted an attractive shade of blue, and, in it,
are arranged a rather long and comfortable couch, a few chairs
--both of leather--as well as a high-end stereo system, and a
large television set. A door heading off from the left of this
leads to an absolutely immense kitchen, also done in a rather
cold cobalt blue and white. Naturally, this kitchen is well
stocked both in supplies and appliances, as well as a dining
table and the usual accompanying chairs. Heading off to the
right from the living room, there is a large gaming room which
contains anything one'd want from a large pool table to the most
recent releases in video game consoles, as well as a number of
televisions and the like. At the center of the living room is the
spiral staircase that heads to the upper portions of the apartment
and all of this space is taken with Muneca's bedroom. Large beyond
imagination, said bedroom is done in more relaxing shades of
blue and, at center, is the immense bed. Arranged throughout
are any number of small decorative pieces as well as closets
and drawers for his clothing.
HISTORY:
Mancha Delvidrio was a very influential man in a very
large city. He held much of the power, much of the wealth and,
to many, his name was one both respected and feared. Still, it
wasn't long before certain things about him began to leak from
unknown sources and stories of his underhanded methods of
business, his unhealthy relationships with his family began to
spread throughout the city. Of course, Mancha did all that he
could to quell these rumors but it seemed that nothing could
be done. So, finding little other choice, he struck out with
others in search of the New Eden and, once there, he set himself
and his family on a seemingly healthier track. Truth be told,
though, he continued to act just as he had: he continued to
abuse his wealth and power. He continued to have rather unhealthy
relations with his eldest children. The only difference was that
he was being more careful of them, this time. Still, to the public,
he remained a man to be both respected and feared.
Still, unknown to Mancha, Muneca was driven to wander the streets
by his father's actions and, after only a short time, he caught
the eye of a charming man known as Shittsui. Seeing the boy's
state, as well as the ease with which he could be manipulated,
Shittsui pounced on the opportunity and, at once, he befriended
the boy. Giving Muneca all that he couldn't find at home,
Shittsui nurtured and cared for the boy and all he ever asked
in return was love, both emotional and physical. Of course, it
wasn't long before the young Mexican was willing to do anything
for the man and, taking advantage of this, Shittsui soon started
whoring off the attractive boy in his club. So, Muneca led this
life almost willingly as it fed his emotional needs, but, upon
going home after a long absence, he found only his mother's
suspicions. After a rather nasty fight, he returned to Shittsui
and it was only a day later that he was told of his mother's
suicide and her rather explicit suicide letter; a letter which
clearly blamed Muneca for her loss of life.
Naturally, Shittsui comforted the boy with false words and such
and, all the while, he continued to manipulate the Mexican to more
dark and disgusting deeds. Muneca, unwilling to fight, quite
willingly let this happen but, at the realization that Mancha was
still abusing his twin, he grew quite enraged. Needing only the
slightest of pushes, he was soon convinced by Shittsui that such
a man _must_ be killed and, as such, it wasn't long before Muneca
had fatally shot his father.
Left with only the hatred of his remaining siblings and his
strange relationship with Shittsui, Muneca immersed himself
in the life at Sodom and Gomorrah.
WRITING SAMPLE:
The wind played idly with a few free pieces of plum
dyed hair as the young Mexican male made his way down the street.
His eyes closed, the boy seemed entirely ignorant of the sea of faces
around him and, in complete honesty, the only thing that held his
attention, at the moment, was the soft refrains of classical music
drifting into his ears. Just softly, he smiled at the situation and
the music.
"Ode to Joy", after all, was hardly fitting to one Muneca Delvidrio,
yet, at the same time, it did seem to calm and deaden the troubling
thoughts that were rising to the forefront of his mind. Of course,
he knew that, if he listened to these, then he'd be forced to look
at the bloody hands stuffed so conveniently in his pockets and he'd
be forced to remember just whose blood this was and just what had
happened only moments ago and that familiar voice raised in mocking
tones and those dark eyes opened wide in fear and...
"No...." He murmured forcefully to himself as he shook his head
in negation. He wouldn't think on it, not at all. Simply, he go
back to S&G and, once there, he'd tell Shittsui all about it. The
man'd make it better as he always did. Maybe it'd mean taking some
more of the man's strange drug. Maybe it'd mean getting drunk on
the best alcohol offered. Maybe it'd just mean more painful sex.
Whatever it meant, it'd be better than reflecting on the thought
that he just killed his father and, in the process, rendered both
himself and his siblings orphans.
