Name: Lucia Abandonné (otherwise known as dear old Lucifer)
Name Meaning: Forsaken Light
Age: Sixteen
Date of Birth: N/A
Astrological Sign: N/A
Bloodtype: O
Alignment: I guess, the correct answer would be Evil, but what is
the true nature of evil, really?
Strengths: Lucia is excessively magnetic and charming. She oozes a
mysterious, carnal charm that either attracts or repels people. Her
average height and lean, muscular body allow her great dexterity,
agility, and freedom of motion. Her femininity is her greatest asset.
Most people on the street would immediately think of her as a poor,
helpless, fragile thing, but in reality she is far from that
assumption. She is more likely to be the mugger than the victim of a
mugging. She had proved her right to leadership to those who have
been graced with the privilege of being allowed into her inner circle
of comrades. She is cunning, tactical, and ruthless when she knows
what she wants. However, she also has an emotional, motherly side to
her that very few people know about. She wields the above average
powers of pyrokenesis, telekinesis, and psychic suggestion (aka
voices in the head) which she uses frequently in her battle against
God.
Weaknesses: Lucia is prone to fits of self-pity and over-
sentimentality. She is very emotionally unstable and can fly off the
handle with anger one moment and wallow in the depths of depression
in the next. When she is close to gaining her objective, she will
immediately forget about the needs of others because her place next
to God sits above all other aspects of her existence. Though she has
calmed herself greatly since the massacre of the human race, she
still has a massive ego when it comes to humans. She respects only
her special chosen and spurns all the other foolish creatures. She
can only truly be humble when thinking of the lover that she
slighted. When it comes to God or the bet, she is highly critical of
herself. She pushes herself at an exhausting pace to be good enough
for forgiveness. She also has a very fine scar running along the skin
behind her right ear that is due to a very old wound that she
received before she attained her human form. It her Achilles Heel of
sorts, being the weakest spot on her body that is especially
vulnerable to mysticism and magic. However, only one person knows the
location of this wound.
Likes: Lucia likes terrorizing lesser creatures like squirrels,
birds, and bums in dark alleys. She loves to play the guitar ("Devil
went down to Georgia, he was looking for a soul to steal..." =p) and
sing blaring rock songs. She loves going to small club concerts and
thrashing among the stench of the human masses. She loves toying with
human emotion and granting their dirty little wishes.
Dislikes: She dislikes religious humans because they comprehend
nothing. She dislikes humans on the whole because God defends them so
readily. She abhors having her period. She would gladly burn out her
ovaries if it wouldn't cause her body serious damage. She hates being
controlled by anyone or anything. She must be the top dog in her own
mind, or else she will violently seek the power that she desires.
Greatest Fear: She fears abandon and betrayal above all else. Though
she agreed to the bet, she was very hurt by God's decision to put her
though this time-consuming trial.
Motivation: Ironically enough, the fallen angel's greatest
motivation is an all-encompassing love. She whole-heartedly believes
that only when she does well with God's challenge can she be forgiven
for her error.
Favorite Food: Toast. It isn't unhealthy, and it can be prepared with
relative ease: grab some bread on the go, use pyrokenesis to a golden-
brown, and enjoy!
Least Favorite Food: Lucia hates sugary and greasy junk food. It
pollutes the fragile human body without the sweet euphoria that
accompanies other pollutants such as alcohol and drugs. She believes
that mortal consumption of such things directly takes God's gift of a
mortal body for granted, and she will not be as inappreciative as the
foolish weak mortals.
What grade are they in: She is in the 11th grade.
Marks: Low A's and the occasional high B because she's smart but
fails to apply herself heavily to her schoolwork
Favorite Class: Political science – Lucia always was a born leader.
She plans on a career in politics if the bet lasts that long.
Least Favorite Class: Philosophy – She believes that free-thinking
shouldn't be taught to the human-sheep.
Personality: The love of God completely and fully drives Lucia's
personality. She obsesses over her former love like a moth to a
flame. As far as any human quirks, she brings perkiness to the world
around her. She is a powerful, magnetic person who easily attracts
people, and she adores the attention. Vanity and power play big parts
in her life. She does not fear the task ahead of her, she knows that
she can easily overcome a mass of stupid humans. She appreciates the
freedoms of the mortal world, however, and believes in fully
experiencing her brief stay in New Eden. Sometimes, she can be as
dithering as any silly teenager. Having just recently become a
female, she deals with her femininity in a number of curious ways.
She flaunts her sexuality like a repressed Catholic schoolgirl. She
is unabashed about her female body and does not fear the watchful
eyes of perverse teenage boys and girls. On the contrary, she knows
that this is a tool that can give her one step up in the bet. She
abhors PMS, her menstrual cycles, and all other inflictions upon her
sex. When she has cramps, she regrets giving up her androgyny. When
she has mood swings, she curses her body which is either too short or
too bloated. However, most of the time, she is fairly confident with
her appearance. She also has good control of her false personality as
a human. She may be a bubbly teenager to all those around her, yet
Lucifer's true nature only appears to her most trusted friends and
comrades. Her scheming mind coats her words with sweet, delicious
promises that can make most humans putty in her hands.
Appearance: Lucia has a very androgynous and sexual charm. Though her
style is very tomboyish, she is undeniably feminine. Lucia stands at
a commanding 5'3", yet she makes up for her lack of height with sheer
power. Her body is lean and muscular with the carved lines of a well-
cared for body as payment for a vigorous lifestyle. She regularly
exercises and eats only healthy foods. She has a pretty face: smooth
flawless skin, and supple features. She has bright blue eyes that
sparkle with a mysterious, devilish charm. Her soft, pouty pink lips
are also a popular attraction on her body. For a girl of sixteen,
Lucia is quite well-endowed. Her body has more curves than a road
through the Andes. Most of the people that she's dated or slept with
will easily say that she is the most huggable person that they have
ever been with. Her body is the kind of thing that deserves
admiration and affection. Her personal style is very flamboyantly
rocker. Her hair is buzzed short on the sides. She has short bangs in
the front and her hair also curves backwards over the top of her head
(a la Shirley Manson in "Breaking up the Girl" + bangs). Her hair is
two-toned: the front is purple and the back is neon yellow. Her style
of clothing is eclectic. She feels comfortable in most clothes, even
business and formal wear. However, her personal style leans more
towards candy raver/glam rock. A lot of her wardrobe consists of
brightly colored vinyl and goggles. Of course, she also has some
moderate soft rocker clothes that are more subdued (roughed up jeans
and form fitting band shirts, plaid and ties, etc etc).
Social Status: Lucia is incredibly popular. However, she fits in
better with the rock stars and the social misfits than with other
classes in her age group. Her other peers find few qualms with her
unless they are total prudes and hate her rumored promiscuity
(however, to most that is her best quality *wink wink*). Most adults
think she is sweet, amiable, polite, and intelligent.
Love Life: She is completely and utterly devoted to God, which in
her case has very different terms attached than with other mere
mortals who claim the same. Having lived with a-sexual creatures her
whole life (and having been one herself), she fails to care about the
gender of whoever she is with. However, there is no one that she
loves more than God.
Family, Friends:
Mary Abandonné – Lucia's adopted mother who is a
very kind and loving mother... and also a steadfast follower of Lucifer.
When she gave birth to her first son, John, there were so many
complications in the pregnancy that Mary was left unable to have any
other children. Though she had wanted to have more children, she was
content to dote upon John until the boy became very mentally ill.
Since New Eden had such a limited population, an orphanage did not
even exist in the city, so when she came across Lucia, she saw the
girl as a blessing. Lucia became even more important after John's
death. She pulled all her energy and focus upon Lucia, feeling the
pain of loneliness. Lucia took advantage of this and promised the
woman that she would be the "perfect, average daughter" if Mary were
to devote her soul to the girl. Thus, Mary became the first soul to
ally itself with the Demons. Mary is a 5'8" tall woman with tan skin
and brown curly hair. She is pretty in a mature and elegant way.
John Abandonné, Sr. – Lucia's adopted father is a very devout,
religious man, an incredibly intelligent geologist... and also a
steadfast follower of Lucifer. He was actually the first one to run
across the young girl when he was outside of New Eden collecting rock
samples for his studies. He has dedicated his life to discovering the
environmental phenomena that is New Eden in the hopes that his
findings can lead to creating safer, habitable places for humanity.
His profession and his life's goal would normally make this man the
perfect person for Lucia to hate (seeing as scientists are generally
atheistic and the man is trying to aide humanity), but on the
contrary, she enjoys his dedication. She most definitely admires the
fact that he is trying preserve the gifts that God has given
humanity. He thinks outside of the box and has a faith that goes
beyond solid evidence. He believes in God and the Devil just as much
as he believes that New Eden can be created and replicated elsewhere.
He blames his son's death on frequent exposure to the "toxic" world
outside of New Eden, and he has pushed himself harder and harder in
his research. However, there was very little he could do for much of
his life, because the people of New Eden would not fund research that
had nothing to do with their own pretty little city. They didn't care
about the rest of humanity, so John was left to fend for himself.
That is, until his daughter made him an offer he couldn't refuse. She
promised that she would make him a respected scientist and scholar in
New Eden in exchange for his complete devotion. Because of Lucia, the
Abandonné family became very wealthy and well-known. John was the
second recruit of the Demons. He is 5'9" with weather beaten, sun
burned peach skin. His hair is a sandy blonde, and he has a sort of
particular rugged charm. He thanks God every day for the blessing
that is Lucia.
John Abandonné, Jr. – Lucia's adopted brother, sadly, is not longer
in the realm of the living. When he was younger, he accompanied his
father out on a geological research project. He was playing among
some rocks when he saw Prometheus, the man who had given New Eden to
humanity, doing something very odd not far from where he was. Out of
curiosity, he wandered over there to see what was going on. He was
the only witness to the breaking of the Great Seal, and the sight of
the creatures of holy fire drove him into madness. He stopped
speaking, barely eating and sleeping at all. When his new sister
Lucia appeared in his bedroom, he immediately recognized her and went
into hysterics. His parents chose to send him away for extensive
psychiatric help. However, before they could get him to an asylum, he
jumped out of his bedroom window to his death on the steel fencing
outside.
Samael – The angel of death. He led many of the fallen angels in an
unsuccessful uprising against Lucifer after their imprisonment. In a
moment of fury, Lucifer released a powerful blast of energy that
obliterated Samael's body of holy fire, yet his soul survived to be
reincarnated. Once an affectionate follower of Lucifer, Samael gave
his complete and utter trust to his leader, only to feel betrayed
when they were cruelly punished for killing the humans. What
compounded the betrayal was when Lucifer began to be outspokenly
repentant for the crimes committed against the humans.
Birthplace: She first appeared on a dusty dirt road outside of New
Eden where the first tear in the Great Seal had once been.
Current Residence: She lives in her parent's less-than-modest three-
floor home in New Eden. Her room is across from her deceased
brother's former room, which her family kept in tact. Her room is
always clean and proper. Her closet is always organized. This is
because organization always means more space to move around in. She
loves to keep her windows open. She wants her room to feel
comfortably free. The last thing she would want is a home that
resembles her former prison. Her room is furnished with rock posters,
CD shelves, and all the other normal teenage accoutrements.
History:
Part I – The Morning Star
Lucia's history started millennia upon millennia ago when Lucia was
still Lucifer, the beloved of God and the most beautiful and radiant
of all angels. He was blissfully happy until one day God got a funny
idea in his head to create these adorably flawed creatures that he
called "humans". Filled with pride and jealousy, Lucifer summoned up
an army of his fellow angels to slaughter the whole lot of filthy
creatures: defying God's will and angering Him greatly. Lucifer and
his followers became fallen angels and God imprisoned them for what
he believed would be an eternal sentence. However, one of Lucifer's
beloved followers, Prometheus, escaped from God's wrath and marked
himself as a human, waiting for the day when he could release his
friend. During those cold years of loneliness and isolation, Lucifer
had time to rethink the actions taken against the humans. He
eventually became repentant, feeling that he had done much to betray
and wound his beloved. The more he became outspoken in his guilt, the
less certain the other fallen angels became. There were many who had
placed their blind trust in Lucifer's revolution, many who felt
betrayed when their leader said that all their efforts and their
current imprisonment were all for nothing. In fact one of Lucifer's
most beloved companions, Samael the Angel of Death, led an army of
fallen angels against the Morning Star. There was a great battle
between Lucifer and Samael's factions, which took the form of a great
fighting competition. As far as the weaker angels were concerned,
Lucifer's lot took most of the battles. However, Samael had been able
to convince more powerful angels of Lucifer's betrayal and Lucifer
lost many great and powerful fighters. With major casualties on both
sides, the battle between the two angels was inevitable. Prideful
Lucifer, however, underestimated his opponent's strength and
willingness to fight. Watching a beloved comrade try to kill him was
more than Lucifer's heart could take. The first aching pains of
loneliness began on the day they fought. In a moment of foolish
weakness, Lucifer left one spot open for attack. Samael took
advantage of the situation and burrowed a hole deep into the holy
fire flesh behind Lucifer's right ear. The beautiful angel screamed
in anguish, releasing a great blast of power in instinctual reaction.
Samael had also gotten vain during the course of the fight and had
forgotten that Lucifer had had almost God-like strength. The energy
released obliterated his body, putting an end to the once great Angel
of Death. The gruesome sight of this murder and the powerful display
of Lucifer's commanding strength silenced all further revolution.
Lucifer spent his last few years within the Great Seal as a
miserable, lonely wreck who was now more desperate than ever to be
back in God's good graces. His follower Prometheus finally found the
Seal and set the fallen angels free, with only one human boy as a
witness. Lucifer returned to God, repentant and stripped of his
former pride. However, rather than accept him back instantly, God
chose not to trust Lucifer, and so he made a wager. This wager was
that each would assume a human form and return to the New Eden that
Prometheus had founded. Once there, each would position himself as
the head of a gang and, in this position, they would vie for the
souls of the humans living there. If God reached one hundred souls
first, then Lucifer would again be bound and sealed, this time
forever. If Lucifer reached one hundred souls first, then God would
take him back into Heaven and he would once again be God's favorite.
Part II – The Forsaken Light
With an eternity in paradise at stake, Lucifer descended upon the
mortal realm in the form of a fifteen-year-old girl named Lucia. She
first appeared on the face of the earth on a dusty dirt road near New
Eden. Feeling for the first time the effects of having a mortal body,
the devil incarnate trudged her way towards the last haven of
humanity. Her poor body grew weary in the dry desert heat, and she
collapsed within fifty feet of New Eden's walls. When she woke up,
she was lying on a couch with a damp washcloth on her forehead. That
was the day that she met the Abandonné's. She fabricated a story
about having little recollection of her past and having no idea how
she came to New Eden, and soon, the young couple invited her into
their family. However, all was not bliss for the Abandonné family.
Shortly after taking Lucia under their wing, John and Mary faced the
greatest trial of their lives when their son John Jr. went completely
insane and killed himself. The family fell apart, but Lucia brought
them back together with the promise of a brighter future. She gave
her father the power and prestige to become a famous scientist. She
became the child that her mother was missing. With the two souls of
her parents in her hands, Lucia quickly went about her mission. She
established a good social personality for herself and got a foot in
all of the right places for soul hunting. She became a frequenter of
nightclubs and became a peer counselor at school so that she could
get an ear on the troubles and desires of the youth. She is waiting
for the right moment to take the souls of her prospective Demons.
Writing Sample:
Lucia Abandonné felt like a God. The throbbing of a
good rock beat rang in her ears as her arms swayed gracefully at her
side. Lucia twirled about, her skin glistening with slight
perspiration. Her mind drifted away in musical reverie, away from her
mortal mind and body to where heavenly thoughts floated.
She reached an arm out, trying to grasp at a face that seemed just
beyond her reach. She felt a warm light upon her face, a sacred smile
meant just for her. How she missed her love in these endless mortal
days! But soon... so soon, she would gather more souls, and before she
knew it, she'd be back in the arms of her love.
With a sharp thrust of her hips, she managed to accidentally knock
over a blue vase of flowers. She quickly noticed her clumsy act,
reaching a hand out and catching the vase, water, and tulips in mid-
air. As neatly as her mind allowed, she levitated all three back to
their rightful place on her peer mediation desk. She had run all the
way to the guidance building just to have a moment to clean before
her 3 o'clock showed up, and already he was late. She pulled the
headphones off of her ears, placing her feather duster in her closet.
Just as soon as she had closed the closet door, *knock knock knock*,
her newest lost lamb arrived. With a cheerfully chirped "Come in",
she prepared herself to imprint the seeds of her evil in this young
one. What she heard from the girl was a story of abusive parents,
fear, pain, confusion, self-loathing. She grinned inwardly. The
humans made it almost too easy.
"I wonder, Sandra..." Her pursed her perfectly polished bright red
lips, leaning over her desk to give the girl's hand a reassuring
squeeze. "...just what is it that you desire more than anything in the
world?"
