Name: Lemuel Sammis
Name Meaning: Dedicated to God
Age: Nineteen
Date of Birth: 13 March
Astrological Sign: Pisces
Bloodtype: AB
Alignment: Naturally, Lemuel is as neutral as any other at the beginning of the
game, but its really very likely that hell gravitate toward whichever side
Shittsui chooses.
Strengths: Having a naturally child-like and innocent appearance and a 'lost
puppy' personality, Lem tends to be the sort that most people either want to abuse or to protect and, though the former definitely isn't anything good, the latter can be useful in that it sometimes saves him from having to experience the absolute worst that his circumstances draw. In fact, it's often this 'please protect me' air that saves him from the more violent clients who would otherwise likely just want to break the boy. Aside from these, though, the only other things that can really be counted toward physical strengths is that hes double-jointed, very flexible, and ambidextrous... much to the pleasure of his clients. Though rather skilled in both drawing and painting, he's never had enough confidence in his work to pursue it, let alone show it to anyone else, so nothing's been made of this somewhat hidden talent. He is also rather good at basic household chores like cooking, sewing, cleaning and the like, even if he's never much been made to do them.
Weaknesses: Perhaps Lem's most glaring weakness is his total and complete reliance on Shittsui; its gotten to the point where it's doubtful that he could do anything on his own, let alone make any decisions, and it's even starting to look as if he's relying on Sui for dressing as well. Pretty much, whatever Barano tells him goes and he never in his wildest dreams even think of disobeying. Of course, this utter compliance also means that he willingly gives himself to any clients at the club and he doesnt object to any act no matter how disgusting nor degrading. Of course, his aforementioned innocence and vulnerability often lead him to great problems and, either unable or unwilling to fight back, hell often go along with anyone who shows him even the smallest scrap of affection. On top of all this, Lem has something of an anxiety disorder and new situations tend to make him extremely nervous and uncomfortable, as do times when he has to be around a large group of strangers.
Likes: Though it's hard to understand, Lem's greatest love in the world would
have to be one Shittsui Barano; after all, how could he not like someone who
took him in, showed him more affection than his blood father ever did, and even
took away the hassle of making decisions? Of course, from that, it can also be
told that he likes having decisions made for him and it even seems that he likes
being guided, manipulated through life if just to keep him from making so many
wrong decisions. Beyond these, he seems to actually enjoy doing mundane
household chores like laundry, cooking, and the like, but that could just be
because he wasnt made to do them like normal kids. He also tends to love dessert foods and, to his mind, the sweeter, stickier, and gooier the better-- and no that wasnt a sexual innuendo. Really. It wasn't! Er, anyway, he also likes to draw, sketch, and paint, even if he never dares to show any of
these to another living soul. The rest of his likes are just things that appeal to his childish nature: various toys, video games, cartoons, comic books, and the like.
Dislikes: Having something of an anxiety disorder, Lem absolutely abhors being
in new situations and he usually can't handle new or unfamiliar things. He also
usually doesnt like being in crowds and he can get more than a little
uncomfortable around people whom he doesnt know. Being without Shittsui is an
absolute crisis for him and he really can never seem to function properly unless the elder is with him. Along these same lines, he seems to absolutely hate being made to make a decision and hes definitely one of those people who could spend all day just trying to decide between blue socks or green. In a sense, it almost seems that Lem hates being a sentient creature and that he'd much rather just be something that runs strictly on orders, never having to make a true decision for itself. In that same sort of abstract sense, he vaguely hates both his parents for abandoning him, in a way, and the guilt brought on by any thought or mention of his biological mother is really enough to drive him mad. In this same way, he hates all politicians, both because it's his fathers profession and because of his fathers willingness to give him away to the other politicians and businessmen as a deal sealer.
Greatest Fear: Lem's greatest fear is probably that Shittsui will someday
abandon him, much as his mother and his father had.
Motivation: As mushy and silly as it sounds, love and companionship are Lem's
greatest motivations and these are what drive him in his everyday life.
Favorite Food: As said before, Lem absolutely adores sticky, gooey, sweet
dessert foods-- the stickier, gooier, and sweeter, the better-- with things like
hot fudge sundaes, sticky buns, and gooey cinnamon rolls are among his favorites. The reasoning behind this is just because they taste good, they get
all over you when you eat them right, and theyre usually just fun to eat.
Least Favorite Food: Lem absolutely hates anything overly salted like chips,
pretzels, and the like, simply because they dont taste good and, if you have a
split lip of other oral injuries, it tends to burn very badly.
What grade are they in: If he were still attending school, Lem would be a Sophomore in college.
Marks: When in school, Lem tended to get high marks (As and Bs) simply because
anything else would anger his father.
Favorite Class: In school, Lem's favorite classes were art classes, just
because he tends to enjoy drawing, painting, and the like so much. Really, it
was the one class where he was happy to apply himself, even if he kept all his
work to himself.
Least Favorite Class: On the other hand, Lem's least favorite class was
probably English class, if just for the fact that, on occasion, he would have to
make speeches or otherwise perform in front of the class.
Personality: Even if it sounds like a complete cop-out, it's hard to say that
Lemuel actually has a personality; from the time he was very young, he was
always under his father's stern eye and it eventually came to the point where he
was too terrified to make any decisions for himself. So, from this, he almost
willingly gave himself into his father's will and, ever since, he's let himself
be manipulated, pulled around like a willing puppet. Of course, his decision to
be utterly submissive was only helped by his father's swift and regular anger
any time something went slightly wrong and, since it was all that he had, Lem
took it as a sign of affection. Of course, his longing for love wasn't helped by the fact that his mother died giving birth to him and, naturally, hes born a deep-seated and indelible guilt of this fact ever since it was made known to him. In fact, even the mention of his mother's name, the sight of one of her pictures presses these feelings on him; so, of course, his father had the house full of pictures of the dead woman. Even from the time he was very young, Lemuel longed for love, but he never seemed to get it at home since his father was always busy. He was raised by his father's service staff and, though they were professionally courteous, they could never give the boy the love he so desperately wanted. So, of course, he would immediately gravitate and cling to anyone who would show him even the smallest scraps of attention. Like a stray puppy, hed follow around anyone who showed him even a hint of affection, and he would do absolutely anything to please them, to make them happy. It's this that made it somewhat easier for him when his father gave him away to Shittsui, since this same had managed to not only show an odd sort of affection, but also seemed to promise that Lem would never have to make another decision as long as he may live. Of course, not that it was anything new for Lem's father to sell him out to his political or business partners as a way to seal a deal and, for fear of angering his father, he always went along with it.
In a way, he is very child-like in that he's willing to offer unconditional love
to anyone, regardless of circumstance or what they may do to him, and also in
that he's very vulnerable in that it really takes very little to wound him, physically or emotionally. Of course, he was never very good at hiding his vulnerability nor his hurt and it's often this that drives people to either protect him or to hurt him or to do a bit of both, even. Naturally, this can be seen a bit in his relationship with Shittsui to whom he is utterly attached and with whom he seems to be entirely infatuated. Really, Shittsui is his world, and he'd happily do anything the man tells him without complaint nor question, no matter how dangerous it may be. Because it's Shittsui's will, he doesn't mind whoring himself, doesnt mind being hurt, doesnt mind being used, just as long as he gets to remain with the elder. It could be a search for a father figure which drives him to this, but it seems just as likely that it simply goes back to his desperate need for affection in any and every form.
Appearance: In a contrast to his nature, Lemuel would have a certain bearing
about himself if he wouldn't slump, curl, bend, or otherwise distort his frame
in an attempt to hide himself. Rather tall, he definitely pushes six feet,
though, as said, he usually slumps himself so that he seems to be more toward
the mid-range of five feet. Shoulders slumped and body curled in, it's rather
hard to tell, but the boy is actually rather built and his arms, legs, chest,
and stomach are all nicely encased in a slender sheath of muscle. Of course,
this also lends an attractive and lithe grace to all his movements and it also tends to turn even mundane movements like stretching into something sensual and almost suggestive. Pale skin of a perfect cream is both a blessing and a curse to the boy as, while very attractive and just begging to be touched, it also tends to show every single mark, bruise, scratch, and welt placed upon it; in fact, so sensitive is it, that it even tends to bruise from even too enthusiastic of a touch. In general, his features are quite beautiful, if not somewhat childish, with just slightly pudgy cheeks, a smallish nose, and pale pink lips forming a perfect cupid's bow. Still, the most stunning of his features are a set of absolutely immense and exquisitely expressive grey eyes which seem to only draw in and reflect the blues, greens, and violets around him. In fact, it is often this same which earns him both appreciative glances on the street as well as a glut of customers in the club. Topping all his features perfectly is a mop of rich strawberry blond curls which, when unbound, cascade in an eternally mussed mass to his shoulders. Typically, though, he'll wear these bound back in a high, very short ponytail with a few long curls left free to frame his face and it's generally these same few unbound curls which he tends to play with as a nervous gesture when uncomfortable or uncertain. Still, as far as clothes go, Lem dresses in whatever fashion that Sui suggests from him which means anything from revealing cut-offs, to schoolboy shorts, to gods know what; really, he takes no word whatsoever in clothing himself and he's only too happy to let Shittsui dress him however the elder may like.
Social Status: Outside of the club, Lem would probably be considered nothing if
not an easy mark; one could play him for a patsy without any trouble and the boy
would likely go along with it. So, as such, I guess the best way to describe him
would be a willing and waiting victim. Still, at the club, though still a
victim, he's very popular, second only to Muneca, and there are many clients who
ask specifically for him.
Love Life: Though it's an odd and almost twisted example of the emotion, Lemuel
is absolutely and whole-heartedly devoted to Shittsui Barano and, without this
same, he'd be utterly and entirely lost. Of course, he also has any number of
devoted clients at the club, but, really, since that's on a professional level,
it probably doesnt count.
Family, Friends:
Waylan Sammis: Waylan is Lemuel's father and he is also the one who sold his
son into Shittsui's service in order to repay a debt. A prominent politician by
trade, he is savvy in his own right and he's often used less than reputable
means to get what he wants, including lending the services of his only son. Of
course, though he'd deny anysuch thing, even Waylan's savvy couldn't keep him
from coming to a place where he became not only indebted to Shittsui, but also
well under the other's thumb. Naturally, a man such as himself despises being in
such a situation, but, seeing as nothing can be done for the moment, he simply
lives with it. As far as his son goes, Waylan truly blames Lem for the death of
Istas and, as such, he really has no true affection left for the boy. In truth,
he sees Lemuel as nothing more than a tool by which his ambitions can be
reached, and so, he has no problems lending out his son in order to seal a
business deal... or to repay a debt. Now in his fifties, Waylan is as tall and
slender as he was in his earlier life, though his thick black hair has started to become flecked with grey and his face has started to show a large number of premature wrinkles. Still, his grey eyes are still as cold and hard as steel behind his glasses and his mouth is still a severe white line cut in the flesh of his face.
Istas Sammis (Istas meaning "snow"): Istas was a woman of principle and
standing, her leading principle being 'look out for number one.' As beautiful
and as cold as snow, she knew as well as anyone how to play and she seemed to
have no qualms about trading friends and lovers as a better one came along. The
daughter of a large corporation, she had a good deal of money, but even that wasn't enough to satisfy her; always, she was one to seek out more. So, of course, when she met Waylan, it was lust at first sight. Hey, they were both rich, young, successful, and more ambitious than any person had a right to be; how could they not love each other? So, after a brief time, the two married and, though there were times when things were rough between them, Waylan seemed
to idolize her. Of course, she took advantage of this and, when she announced
that she was pregnant, the pampering only increased. Sadly, though, Istas died
giving birth to her son and, as such, she wasnt around to see what became of
him.
Shittsui Barano ("disgraced rose" or "rose, disgraced"): The affluent and
charming owner of the Sodom and Gomorrah, Shittsui was also one of the only people to be able to hold a debt over Waylan Sammis and, since Waylan couldn't repay this, he allowed Sui to take his son, instead. By nature, Shittsui is a manipulative, slick man with an intense sexual magnetism and a great head for business. As the owner of the S&G, he has more money than which he could ever hope to use, but he only continues to persue more of this same. His feelings toward Lem, though, are hard to exactly pin down, since the man definitely doesn't wear his hard on his sleeve. Still, Sui does seem fond of the boy, if just for Lems naturally submissive nature. In appearance, Sui is absolutely drop dead gorgeous with tanned skin, a strong build, pale hair, and piercing blue eyes.
Muneca Delvidrio ("doll of glass"): Muneca is another of Shittsui's pets and,
quite obviously, this same is the mans favorite. Naturally, Mune is protective
toward Lem and he does what he can to protect the other from the more violent
and harsh clients. Still, on the other hand, Lems feelings towards Mune are
complex; sure, he's thankful for the protection and all, but he's also jealous
of the fact that Sui favors Mune over himself. Of course, he's not one to act on
such jealousy, but it still burns him, at times, that Sui longs for the other.
Birthplace: New Eden
Current Residence: Of course, Lemuel lives in an apartment bought for him and
furnished for him Shittsui, though, naturally, he tends to spend little time in
it, preferring to spend his time with the elder. Still situated in one of the
upper-class sections of the city, the apartment is posh in every meaning of the
word and it is easily big enough to accommodate a family, let alone a single
teenager. In style, it is rather modern and a rich cobalt blue, Lem's favorite,
runs as a theme throughout. Still, it's quite obvious that the most often used
rooms are the kitchen and the bedroom as both of these hold the greatest number
of personal artifacts. Still, despite the fact that it belongs to a teenage
male, the all areas of the apartment are scrupulously clean and even
the usual clutter is relegated to small, neatly-stacked piles.
History: It was a merger-- er, marriage-- made in heaven when Waylan Sammis
married Istas Harris after a rather short period of courting. Of course, there
were whispered rumors about Istas' former marriage and Waylan's associations
with the less than desirable elements of the city, but these were soon quashed
as the happily wedded couple settled into a life of wedded bliss. Naturally, Waylan again dedicated himself to furthering his political career and Istas continued to wallow in the doting affection her husband had shown her throughout their courtship. It was a good life for both of them and it
only grew better when Istas announced the impending birth of her child. Thrilled
with this, Waylan only redoubled his efforts to pamper his wife and Istas wrung
the pregnancy for all it was worth. Sadly, though, after an almost too easy
pregnancy, Istas died from complications of childbirth and Waylan was left as a
single father. Not interested in having anything to do with the murderer of his
wife, Waylan left the child's care up to the help and he only became involved at
all when it came to disciplining the child.
Oh, fathering Waylan couldn't much do, but discipline was another matter
entirely. The child cries? That's a beating. The child breaks something? That's
a beating. The child steps out of bounds? That's a beating. The child makes a
bad decision? That's a beating. It wasn't long at all before Lem learned to fear
his father and, in this same, he learned to hate having to make decisions for
fears that it'd simply lead to another beating. Of course, this also led Lem to
become almost desperate for affection and, since he couldn't find it at home, he
sought it elsewhere. At school, hed try to befriend anyone who even bothered to
so much as smile at him and, even if it only led to pain or betrayal, he'd be
happy enough even for that. On the street, he was almost sickeningly easy prey
for the perverts and he soon learned just how affectionate the older men in the
city could be. Then again, he soon learned this at home, as well.
As the boy grew, Waylan noticed that Lem was turning quite attractive and he
also noted that, when he invited them over, quite a few of his business and
political partners found the boy quite appealing. Realizing that he could well
use this to advance himself, Waylan started offering Lem as a way to sweeten his
deals and, for the most part, his business partners were pleased with this.
Fortunately for Waylan, this also gave him a way out when he became indebted to
Shittsui Barano, a man to whom he had become almost irreversibly bound through
various dealings. Since Waylan didn't have the money to repay his debt, he
instead offered Shittsui his son and the man was more than happily to take the
sixteen year old as his newest pet. Still, Lem took almost surpassingly well to both Shittsui and to his new life; after all, it wasn't that different than what
hed been living all along and the only real differences were that it was
Shittsui whom he had to obey instead of his father and that the men were actually paying to have him.
Writing Sample: The music pounded relentlessly into the boys ears, but, at the moment, he had no mind for anything besides the large man looming over him. Curled tightly into the corner of the dank room, Lemuel shook violently and, grey eyes full of unspent tears, he watched as the man took another step toward him. His mind reeled almost desperately for some way to remedy this situation, but it couldnt even seem to offer him the reason for this dispute. Had he said something? Had he done something? That wasnt likely; he hardly ever talked to his clients, as per their requests, and he wouldnt do a thing to them
unless they asked him to do so. Maybe he wasnt good enough? Still, the man seemed to have been enjoying himself up to that moment minutes a--
Lemuels thoughts spun out into nothingness as his vision exploded in white and, his head rocking hard against the cold wall, he heard a soft moan escape his lank lips. Still, his only thought was that his cheek would surely be bruised from that and, as such, he wouldnt be able to work tomorrow. Master Barano would be upset with him, but worse still, hed be disappointed that Lem had let him down. Whimpering at this thought, Lemuel lifted his arms to cradle his head just as the man chose to throw another punch and, in an explosions of exhaled air, he voiced a loud moan.
