| Guillermo
Garcia is a tango dancer and musician from Bahia Blanca, Argentina. He
has been playing Argentine music on guitar since age 10, and has
studied tango dance with salon, milonguero and new-generation masters
such as Nestor Ray, Hernan Obispo, Mauricio Castro, Mariana Dragone,
Javier Rodriguez, Jorge Dispari, Andres Laza-Moreno, Roberto Herrera,
Sebastian Arce and Mariana Montes, Gustavo Naveira and Giselle Anne.
Since 2003 he has annually organized Tango Discovery workshops by
Mauricio Castro in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a musician he plays with Trio Garufa ("La Segunda Tradición" CD, 2008, and "Tango en el Mate" CD, 2004) and played with Flor de Tango from 1996 to 2000 ("Flor de Tango" CD, 2000). Guillermo is also an audio engineer specialized in music processing and synthesis, and currently pursues a Ph.D. on the restoration of old recordings. |
