The World Preview Event
For those of you who did not participate in the world preview event I will be providing you with this article of information. To start the guild system was great but there were to many people with their own guild there must have been one guild for every 1.5 players. I would have loved to recruit more people but during the WPE I only recruited 2 members 1 of which left. The battle system was awesome it will bring a tear of happiness to your eye for those of you who have not yet played it. There was a total of about oh 20 skills per quest which you could get during the WPE. The Quest were interesting there was a total of 5 quests during the WPE. They put you in your own personal (as many of you probably know). You could either join a party with humans or hire, for free, a henchman of either monk, ranger, warrior, or elementalist. You could have 1 of all henchmen per quest. Most of the henchmen were obsolete except for the monk who is always useful for reviving your fallen teammates or healing them as you battle. Once you die and there is no one to revive you or there's no resurrection circle, which there were none in the WPE your quest is over and you go back to the quest party recruitment area. Quest 1- The first quest you went to meet the white mantle for the first time. they were under attack by an undead swarm. You must travel though a vast world which has 2 paths to choose from as most quests do. Once you beat all the undead and the many bosses you defend the white mantle leader from spawning undead units. After you beat them all you find a messenger who you talk to which finishes the quest. Quest 2- In the second quest you must lead a floating eye to a city. You start the quest a little from the first city which you must beat some creatures to get to. Once in the first city you cleanse your self at a well to be able to have a holy eye follow you to the second city which has chosen villages. in the ending cut scene the white mantle guards escorting the chosen to a hidden place in a forest are attacked and killed by The Shining Blade. Who kidnap the chosen. Quest 3-In the 3rd quest called the wilds you go in to a beautiful forest filled with all kinds of incredibly designed plant life. if you zoom in on the plants they look close to real life plants. each leaf is its own figure not just a green blur. ok enough with the plants. In this quest you are following the The Shining Blade who kidnapped the chosen. you follow them through the lush forest through battles with ent-like creatures, spiders, and centaurs. You race through trees and the most amazing water graphics in existence (A river). You chase the The Shining Blade to their hideout where you find the chosen in spider webs nearly dead. You must fight off the spiders who Poison you constantly to talk to the The Shining Blade. They explain to you the evil plot of the white mantle who from now on are your enemy. Quest 4- The forth quest is all about killing a white mantle leader. You Battle through creatures and white mantle guards to reach him. You find him sacrificing 5 chosen people who fall around him in the shape of the demonic star (a star inside a circle). You must battle him to achieve victory. Quest 5- This one in my opinion is the hardest. You must go through creatures and white mantle again. you have to beat many bosses and chose your paths wisely or you will be doing extra work. You have to light these portal alters in which you place a crystal to change them from white mantle (red) to your color (blue) once you go down the first path there is a race between your party and the white mantle to light the last 3 alters. once all the alters are blue you go into a new little area in a cave where you fight behemoths and a giant behemoth who is the boss. after you beat these quests you get your second town. Towns- in towns you can craft and trade items. You craft by talking to one of the crafters who are npcs after crafting an item of clothing you make color it using a vile of dye. one of the most useful items you can get in town is the salvage kit. It allows you to break down old items into crafting components. There are some items which can only be used to salvage. Such as warlocks robes in my opinion the most important salvage item which gives you hides a very valuable item used to craft clothing.
Explorable Areas- In these areas you can explore the vast countryside of your current town. It's a very good place to have fun, gain exp, and get items. There are some portals in the explorable areas which allow you to have an even bigger area. This is a good thing to do to relax if your stuck on a tough quest or to play in if you are board of the quest style. There are very little goals in exploring its just a fun pass time. PvP Battles- A very fun system in the game you may fight another guild, meet new people by making a party, or even have a randomly selected party in which to fight until you team is wiped out. PvP battles are another good way to get away from the other things in the game. Instead of killing AI people which have no reaction when they die kill Humans which may get mad when they die. It's more satisfying you kill a human than a computer. In conclusion I would give guild wars a rating of 9.8 out of 10. The WPE was awesome and I'm sure the final version will be even better.
