Because virtually all human beings mindlessly march in lockstep to the belief that the non-existents tribalism and mysticism; AKA statism and theism, AKA government and religion are omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient, and also believe as Aristotle proclaimed  "are by nature clearly prior to the individual," I'm again obligated to repeat the following caveats:
1. In spite of hatred for me, my message, and the endless years of human brainwashing and indoctrination, I must try to get these very simple facts through the head of any reader: There are some people, and I'm one of them, who know that the collective paradigms state and border hold no objective existence, no material foundation, no concrete referents. They are non-existents, and only holding a paranormal existence at the end of a gun! Furthermore, I and many others recognize state and its bastard offspring border, along with religion, to be the very genesis of evil! Consequently we know and can prove that the only PRIME existent on the material planet earth is the individual human being! Got it so far?
2. Therefore, the irrefutable truth of position number one logically leads to the following: I have all states and borders equally! Yet, by natural circumstances, it so happens that I live in the one called the United States. So, with limited time, resources and energy, I direct my fury toward it. If I lived in a different one, my fury would be directed toward it. Nevertheless, the truth remains that I wish them all instant destruction. Presently, however, the U.S. is undeniably the most powerful one seeking empire, world dominance and hegemony. My fury toward its false existence is just as strong toward all of its jingoistic junk: flags, war medals, uniforms, branches of government, ad nauseum. Again, got it?
3. So, with number one and two made clear, I hope its clear to all who read this essay that I really do not give a fuck if you hate me, but you can at least spare me your bullshit about: "loving it or leaving it" or "getting out of your country" or "It's OK to disagree with the politics of murder, but I should still support "our" troops; hence, the very ones who do the murdering!
4. This is the last of the necessary caveats. When the politicians and intellectuals, who support the non-existents state, borders and religion, refer to people like me, they call us advocates of "ideology," ideological partisans, etc. Somehow, they hope this paints us as fanatics, nuts or at best impractical idealists. The truth is that any person who offers opinion, assertions or theories about human life and culture is by definition an ideologue. Their use of this term to discredit us is nothing more than Newspeak and semanticide.
In fact, historical reality actually and accurately places them as the first ideologues. Such organized thought about existence and consciousness began when Hominids finally evolved a cerebral cortex capable of such "awareness." Consequently the first Homo sapiens who "formulated" judgmental "Do's & Don'ts" about that existence were the original Statists and theists. The first to "invent" gods and tyrants as gods and tyrants were needed to explain terror of that "moment" when Homo sapiens first "understood" his/her existence and mortality. So, yes we can be ideologues but theists and statists were first, not atheists and anarchists. They didn't come along for thousands of years. It took that long for natural selection to evolve skepticism and reason.
Now to the purpose of this essay. Though I have written a book (soon to be published) and dozens of essays that examine in detail the unavoidable evolution of these two prehistoric evils, I again find it necessary to write another. Unique manifestations of their evil are always "just around the corner." This latest one originates with the war on individual human beings in Iraq, the murder and torture of Iraqi prisoners, the comic book making of a hero and the savage semanticide of language to gird these walls of hell, by a moronic President and his psychopathic clerks for tyranny. Together, primarily to obtain oil, they have unleashed the dogs of war.
As with all wars, the people of the countries involved immediately fall into lockstep to fight some preordained evildoers.
The complicity is even worse within mainstream media. Over 90% of people who read this essay will find its indictments absolutely unfathomable. The reason is objectively self-evident while subjectively invisible to those 90%. Virtually all citizens of the United States have received 8 to 12 years of brainwashing and indoctrination. Since about 5 years old (How impressionable is that?), they have recited daily "The Pledge of Allegiance." Most have also repetitively sung "The National Anthem." Even we dissidents, who somehow found our way through this jingoistic labyrinth, had to rotely and robotically regurgitate this tripe. Even though these redundant recitals are enough in themselves, to attain Boethie's warning, "they will wear the yoke and learn to love it," we had years of historical Newspeak poured into our brains by already programmed "teachers."
The vast majority of true believers fit the description above. There is, however, a much smaller minority who, not only understand the nature of this Alice in Wonderland semanticide, but also create it. Thus to hold power they invent evildoers and use Mark Twain's, The War Prayer, to murder thousands of innocent people - known to them as "collateral damage." To those who reject such mendacity and hypocrisy that truly evil phrase means literally, murdered human beings. Their War Prayer:
O Lord, our God, help us to tear their soldiers [and detainees] to bloody shreds with our shells - help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to turn them roofless with their little children to wander, unfriended, the waste of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst - we ask it, in the spirit of love.
Twain could have added, "sodomized, raped, stripped naked, piled in bodies of naked flesh, forced to masturbate, half beheaded on the ground, and for today's sadistic voyeurs filmed and photographed!"
One Senator asked, "My God, how did people like this get in our army?" Senator Dick Durlein said, "I felt like I was looking into hell, a ring of our own creation." Let's stop bullshitting. The only way such things happen is by the state; it's the only thing capable of such universal evil. Such real evildoers can only develop from the seeds of statism and theism. As horrific as individual acts can be from serial killers, hit men, rapists, crimes of passion, etc., they are absolutely incapable of even a fraction of the evil that is always at the fingertips of a dictator or a president! Media meatheads continuously and idiotically ask, "Can we democratize some part of the world?" The answer historically and universally is NO! But you can be damn sure statists can and will sodomize individual human beings who reside on this world!
How could anyone even dream up the idea of democracy for a people when you arrest 43,000 of them with absolutely no evidence of wrong-doing? When only 600 of them are ever charged? When the International Red Cross informs the highest U.S. officials of rampant torture and of the fact that 90% of Iraqi prisoners were arrested by mistake?
Never forget that evil acts in the world 24/7. But also never forget that evil destroys through the random acts of individual human beings and evil acts through the collective policies of statism. In attempts to substantiate how many people died from random murders of passion, robbery, serial killers, killers for hire, gangs, etc., during the 20th century, one computer model came up with just less than one million, another done in France, listed 1.5 million. In contrast, documented statistics, scrupulously kept by the killers themselves, show 300 million murders by the world?s states in war alone in the 20th century! Also remember, these statistics did not include other categories of murder, by statist policy - cops murdering innocent people, the yearly slaughter of the death penalty, the inhuman murder and torture of innocent Mexicans for walking across a non-existent line in the desert drawn by monsters in Washington D.C., ad nauseum!
It is ignorant to question why America could possibly do such things - it is the nature of the state. However, it is somewhat understandable when brainwashed but otherwise compassionate and intelligent Americans question how do such evils go unseen and unreported for so long? The answer has always been obvious - the perpetrators of the evil are protected by and covered up for by their more ethical and moral peers! It happens within corporations, it happens in police departments, in happens in prisons and it happens in the military.
The most prominent and investigated of this phenomena is the police department. It's popularly known as "The Blue Wall of Silence." Everyday across America, especially the inner cities, a significant number of cops brutally abuse, beat, torture and murder innocent and guilty people; all under the watchful eyes of a much larger number of their peers. Peers who will not actively participate but who will passively do nothing to stop it, or report it! It is my view that such cowardly and passive approval is more evil than that of the perpetrators. The words of Frederic Bastiat expose it better than I ever could:
The law perverted and the police powers of the state perverted along with it. Instead of checking crime, the law itself is guilty of the evils it pretends to punish.
Almost as wicked are the huge number of mainstream media who publicly defend and rationalize such evil and its brutes! Such predictable behavior happens behind the same Wall of Silence in the military and the prisons. You don't need to look for such cover up evidence in the war in Iraq or the war in our cities - just follow the massive Wall of Silence in our military academies where female cadets are assaulted and raped as part of the curriculum for their male cadets!
In reaction to the Iraq prisoner abuse the "top brass" of this sordid affair have decided to remove certain interrogation techniques from use. Two of them are stepping on toes and fingers and protracted positions of bodily discomfort. Now is this absurd or what? During my 27 months in Federal prison, I daily witnessed such abuse. Hell, The Arizona Republic, in one of its rare moments of reason, wrote a short series on how the juvenile justice system would strap the teenage inmates to their beds for very extensive periods of time. So, just stop and give just a little rational thought to the issue: Is it at all surprising that American storm-troopers would have second thoughts about using such techniques on Iraqis when they do it everyday in our prisons!
What anyone with half a brain should be able to grasp is the irrefutable fact that once you demonize a group of people, anything goes, and that there will be a Wall of Silence to cover it up, notwithstanding its color!! Just listen to one of their own explain it. Retired Police Chief Joseph D. McNamara, a man who spent 35 years wearing a police uniform reported:
Los Angeles cops are taught to lie at the birth of their careers at the police academy. I'm now convinced that hundreds of thousands of law enforcement officers commit felony perjury every year just testifying about drug arrests. These are not cops who take bribes or commit other crimes; they are law-abiding and dedicated. They don't feel lying under oath is wrong because politicians tell them they are engaged in a holy warfighting evil.
Come on now! Don't play stupid. What do you think those guards and interrogators believe when top politicians, Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld, keep telling them they are fighting evildoers 24 hours a day?! And, "if you're not with us, you're against us!"
Agreeing with Chief McNamara is Police Chief Bernard Parks who reported:
An evil cancer has been found inside the LAPD-the scandal has grown so large that settling the $125 million lawsuit is a sum twice the size of the Los Angeles budget for liability. There are hundreds of criminal cases all linked to the growing list of officers under investigation for tainted and faked arrests.
OK! Let's continue to not play dumb. Why would the military, military academics and prisons be a dime's worth different than our police departments?! Logically, in fact, because Iraqis are so ethnically, culturally and religiously different from us, such torture and abuse can only be exponentially worse!
Now, to this business of heroes and role models. The rote indoctrination of virtually all Americans from kindergarten through high school has developed an icon idolatry of military and police careers as heroic occupations where heroes and role models are churned out. Consequently, high school counselors and teachers (themselves preprogrammed in this worship) push the students, primarily young males, who are not considered college material into these careers. The historical foundation for this hero worship includes My Lai in Vietnam, No Gun Ri in Korea, Ruby Ridge, WACO, A-Bombs on tens of thousands of Japanese children, genocide of Native Americans on the Trail of Tears, National Guard murders at Kent State, batons up the rectum in New York, ad nauseum.
The latest "hero" to mutate from this murderous mess is the universal idolatry of Pat Tillman. The twisted reasoning for such worship is well expressed by columnist Laurie Roberts of The Arizona Republic:
I'm thinking that no Arizona child should aspire to grow up to be President. Better, I think, to grow up to be Pat Tillman.
Only those deeply brainwashed in nationalism and militarism could read Ms. Roberts' words without crying or laughing. Its literal stupidity is self-evident in her words "grow up." There was NO growing up! Tillman was killed barely out of puberty! While a moronic President did get to "grow up," at least physically. Soldiers like Tillman die young - often in the act of killing other young men dubbed evildoers by truly evil old men!
If Ms. Roberts' idea of a "hero" were to be the goal of raising children, every birthday would be a celebration of death, not life. Parenting would be preparing for a burial ceremony, dripping with flags and medals. The opportunity to be a grandparent would be a joke! Such jingoistic idolatry has murdered 300 million such young people in war during the 20th century alone! My question to Ms. Roberts would be, "How does an intelligent and caring woman write so many excellent columns about protecting the young from abuse and then write such verbal lunacy?"
How does 12 years of lock-step "I pledge allegiance" lead to the virtual destruction of reason? Actually, the way all indoctrination and propaganda succeed - by the subversion of language. An almost unanimous opinion exists that somehow people just "know" how to reason; therefore, no one really needs to learn how to think, how to use language. However, the truth is thinking and conceptually verbalizing those thoughts is an attribute that we must activate by learned choice. Language and reason are never automatic. The words that best represent the volitional ability to move from the visceral and sensual to conceptual awareness of reality are logic and reason. People who don't, won't or can't make use of these terms become rote slaves to those who do so for evil purposes, and there is NO more evil a purpose than war! Below is how this lacerated logic and rape of reason goes in the Tillman example:
As a professional football player for the Arizona Cardinals, Pat Tillman irrationally decided to quit a career in the wealth-producing enterprise of pro football to join a plundering wealth theft activity of the U.S. Army. He offered little explanation. However, his mother offered the best insight to his negation of reason: "Pat was always anti-establishment."
Anyone who does not instantly recognize the oxymoronic nature of that quote has long past been enslaved by Orwellian Newspeak. How could anyone, using reason, miss the obvious: The state's military is the most representative of establishmentarianism! In the Tillman logic it goes like this: The autocratic-dictatorial military is freedom, and free choice/free market professional football is slavery and force the cacophony of applause for such mad hatter tea party nonsense, from the media and the public, pinpoints the precarious nature of neo-cortical evolution to date.
In spite of the certain hatred for me and my message, by most readers, I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume (a dangerous word) that a few of you must have enough intelligence to know that an occupation that has committed 300 million murders in the 20th century alone surely holds no ethical or economic value to the progress of the human race. Surely, it should dawn on a mind that has not surrendered its reason that Pat Tillman playing football today contributes more than being dead in Afghanistan.
I end this essay with the true story of a true heroine. I shall not give her full name. I will simply call her "Michelle The Terrorist." Michelle, her father and mother were Mexican nationals who came to the U.S. illegally. (My conscience, my ethics and what I know to be reality demands that I restate the white hot hatred I hold for the evil, non-existent concept border. That now said, I have to use an evil word like illegal to tell the story.) Michelle was 11 years old at the time. Her mother and father both went to work. In other words, they became producers in contrast to the plunderers of I.N.S. that were soon to haunt her life.
One night the father, who was drinking heavily, crashed the car with the mother in it. She was instantly killed. It was at this time that the I.N.S. learned of their illegal presence in their country, another statist obscenity. The father was imprisoned for 9 years. Michelle was all-alone at 12 years old. Fortunately, an American born Mexican family was allowed (another statist obscenity) to take her in - this was pre 9-11 and pre the Patriot Act - another statist obscenity. After Michelle graduated from high school, she married an American born Mexican man, also a producer, who owned his own mattress and bed business. Michelle also went to work in the small but successful company. She eventually became pregnant and gave birth to a beautiful baby boy.
It was at this time that I met Michelle while I was working as a physical fitness trainer at a local gym. She wanted to get back in shape after the pregnancy. By working hard, she accomplished her goal. She was a loving mother, loving wife, very hard worker in the family business. She had all the qualities of a successful person who had dealt with tough circumstances. Her life was good.
That was all before the aftermath of 9-11. Before she was declared a potential threat, even terrorist, by the Nazi law, the Patriot Act, by its despotic creators - Bush, Ashcroft and Rumsfeld. Because of certain facts of this new law and even though she had married an American citizen, Michelle was to be deported back to Mexico while the statist bastards investigated her background. She packed up her young son and herself and returned to Mexico. At first, she was told, by a government appointed lawyer, that she may not be able to return for six years. Recently, she has been told that she may be able to return in less than a year. She continues to work hard in Mexico while caring for her young son.
To me Michelle is a hero, and there are thousands of such heroes who come to the U.S. and contribute to the well being and wealth of this country. To me, she is also a hero because she is surviving the cruelty of real evildoers - the I.N.S. and the U.S. government.
I ask you to consider TWO things: Do you feel safer and more secure with "Michelle the Terrorist" out of the country and Pat Tillman out of football and dead in Afghanistan? If you can answer NO, you are still both safe and free. If you answer YES, you are in immediate danger from the U.S. government and already enslaved!
My title for this paper is "Can Americans Ever Call A Spade A Spade?" Well, the answer is a resounding "Yes!" I just read where Michael Moore's film Fahrenheit 9/11 just won the highly coveted Palme d'Or, the Cannes Film Festival's top award, and he received the longest standing ovation ever at these awards! His film calls every spade of death dealt by the evil and idiotic Bush administration a spade in every possible way. I hope it resonates with such fury that it gives all of Fox News a heart attack!

[EDITOR'S COMMENTS: Though I know that many folks may think some parts of Mr. Clapp's essay to be mean-spirited, I think it is right on target as regards the unwarranted hero worship being showered upon the late Pat Tillman. As far as I am concerned, this man threw his life away, volunteering to fight for the Imperial Legions for an evil cause. He should have used his brain and stayed in the NFL, at least then he would very likely still be alive. Instead, he followed some warped sense of duty and ended up dying from wounds sustained from 'friendly' fire. Yes, folks, Pat Tillman was accidentally killed by his fellow troops. I find this very ironic.
I know most readers of this fine libertarian anarchist oriented publication do not need to be reminded of this, but perhaps a few of you still do believe in some concept of duty. You owe NO DUTY to your country, be it the American Imperium or some other nation state. There is no glory in dying for your country - it is a completely needless, foolish sacrifice. You own yourself, and you have the right to live your life as you see fit, so long as you respect the self-ownership rights of others, which thus means you will not initiate the use of force on them.
I truly wish "Michelle the Terrorist" all the best and hope that she will soon be reunited with her husband and be able to live out the remainder of her life without further hassles from the jack-booted thugs of Homeland Security. Like many other people, she certainly did get a raw deal from the Imperium. That said, while I also agree that the vast majority of folks trying to make it into the Empire do want to come and work hard and be self-sufficient, there is a sizable minority that does come across to take advantage of the services offered by the welfare state. The solution to this very real problem is NOT to shut down the border, but to shut down the welfare state. That alone would solve a great many problems we are now facing.
Alas, I cannot join Mr. Clapp in applauding the work of Michael Moore in Fahrenheit 9/11. It is NOT because Mr. Moore does not tell the truth about the antics of the Bush administration, I'm sure that he does, but he calls this work a documentary while admitting to its extreme political spin. Just because he gets a lot of things right this time does not change my opinion of his body of work. In Bowling for Columbine, Mr. Moore did a lot of 'creative' editing to make people like Charlton Heston (then President of the completely ineffective NRA) look like monsters in the aftermath of the Columbine killings. Can we really trust this man?
The bottom line: George W. Bush is a liar. Michael Moore is a liar. I choose to trust neither of them. I will see Fahrenheit 9/11 when it comes on the movie station. I'm not going to knowingly enrich a man who favors gun control and makes propaganda films and then labels them documentaries.
I do thank Mr. Clapp for this thought-provoking essay. As usual, he has given me a lot to think about. I hope most of you agree with me on that score.]
