Streets and Allies
Best for- Large Groups (20 plus)
Active and Inactive
Competitive

Okay, this is an easy and fun one.  All you need to do is get the girls into rows.  ie- 25 girls, 5 rows of 5, 20 girls, 4 rows of 5, etc.  Next, you need to pick one girl to be "cat" and the other to be "mouse" (you can change these namesto whatever you'd prefer) All the girls stand in their row formation witrh their arms stretched out wide, touching the hands of the girl(s) beside her.  The cat at one side of this formation and the mouse at the other.  When you say "go" the cat has to run up and down the "streets" made by the girls' arms to try to catch the mouse.  Every so often, call out allies, and the girls all turn 90 degrees to make allies which are now going perpendicular to what the streets used to be.  Call streets again to get the girls to move back to their original positions.  Once the cat has caught the mouse, pick new girls to chase each other.
Ladders
Best for Medium to Large Groups (8 to 30)
Active and Inactive
Competitive, Concentration

Every girl chooses a partner and sits down, facing her, with her legs striaght out so that her feet touch her partners feet.  All the girls should sit like this in a line so all of the feet line up.  If there is an odd number of girls, that left over girl can be the caller, if not, a leader can do this.  The caller numbers each pair of girls, 1,2,3 etc. so that each pair is numbered and then randomly calls out numbers.  When a pairs' number is called, that girl and her partner stand up and jump over the legs of the other partners (the ladder rungs), around the outside, and back up the "ladder" to her place.  The first girl in the pair to reach her spot again is the winner.
Graveyard
Any size group
Inactive
Self- control

All girls lie down on the ground except for one, the "caretaker" or "undertaker" who goes around trying to make people laugh.  If anyone does laugh, then they become a "caretaker" as well and try to make other people laugh.  The "caretakers" can't touch the girls lying on the ground, but tells them jokes, etc, to try to get them to laugh.  The last girl lying on the ground is the winner.
My Grandmother's Big Fat Toe
Any size group, any age group (including leaders!)
Inactive
Self-control

Basically, the girls can be standing or sitting, but sitting in a circle works well.  One girl walks around and asks questions such as "what did you eat for dinner?" "what's in your pocket" etc and the girl must answer "My Grandmother's Big Fat Toe" without laughing or smiling.  If she does, then she joins the original girl in asking others questions.  The last girl remaing without laughing wins.
