40 000 Feet

(This is a song which originated in Britian.  It's quite funny!)
Note- "without his boots on" originated as "without his shute (as in parachute) on" which became "without his shoes on" which, over time, became "without his boots on"

He jumped from 40 000 feet without a parashute
He jumped from 40 000 feet without a parashute
He jumped from 40 000 feet without a parashute
And he ain't gonna jump no more without his boots on

Chorus:
Glory, glory what a horrible way to die
When you're wearing frilly knickers and you don't know how to fly
Glory, glory what a horrible way to die
And he ain't gonna jump no more without his boots on!

They scraped him off the tarmac like a lump of strawberry jam
They scraped him off the tarmac like a lump of strawberry jam
They scraped him off the tarmac like a lump of strawberry jam
And he ain't gonna jump no more without his boots on

CHORUS

They put him in an envelope and sent him off to mum
They put him in an envelope and sent him off to mum
They put him in an envelope and sent him off to mum
And he ain't gonna jump no more without his boots on

CHORUS

(...so you get the idea, here are the starting lines of the rest of the verses)

She put him on the mantlepiece for everyone to see
She put him on the table when the vicar came to tea
The vicar didn't like him so he flushed him down the loo
Rushing through the sewer pipes and 40 miles an hour
The moral of the story is to look before you leap!
