Eleven-year-old Kelly McCarthy of Warren has won a $50 savings bond and the opportunity to have her prize drawing painted on the St. Mark's Church Sunday School wall.
The Guiding Light Youth Group is a nonprofit organization that provides a safe atmosphere for youth, grades 8-12, to conduct community service.
The mural contest was held from August through September and was open to youngsters nationwide. Ms. McCarthy's entry was based on the theme, "Lambs of God" and depics lambs with children of different ethnic origins holding hands with Jesus. The drawing is borded by black and white seep, which emphasizes the literal meaning of Lambs of God. |
