- In April (2002) we participated in a clean up day in Bristol, RI. We were in charge of cleaning up the trash in Guiteras Park, Bristol, which is adjacent to the school.

- During the months of April and May, we implemented a toiletry drive. Boxes were placed in local stores as well as the church and donations of toiletry items were accepted. The items were then packaged into "personal care packages" and were donated to The Sojourner House in Providence, RI.

- We made bird feeders with peanut butter, bird seed and pine cones. We walked down to the local park and hung them all on trees. We made approximately 20 total.

- We colored, cut and sewed paper bears to be distributed by the St. Mark's Sunday School for Mother's Day.

- We made "Happy Spring" cards that were sent to the Corliss Center in Warren, which is a school for the disabled.

- On June 18th-19th, we took a trip to the Thames Science Center in Newport, RI. We lodged at the Marriott Hotel and spent three hours learning about constellations and robotics in space. We learned about the origins of many current constellations and astrological signs and were able to create "our own constellations." Thank you to all who made donations to help us take this wonderful trip.

- On July 13th, we participated in Saint Mark's Peddler's Fair. We played games, including Turtles, Turles Everywhere, The Bubbler, Coin Toss, and The Grand Lollipop Guess. You could have even won a real fishie! Along with games, we had a bake table with watermelon, double-layer chocolate cake, lemon squares, crumb muffins, and popcorn.

-We held a very successful car wash on July 27th. The money earned will be used to take a trip to the Astors-Beechwood Mansion in Newport, RI to participate in a program called "Murder Begets Murder" - a reality Clue game.

- On August 22nd, the group attended the Murder Begets Murder Night at the Astors-Beechwood Mansion. Our chaperone, Robin, was the only attendee who correctly guessed the murderer! Congratulations Robin!

- We had another lock-in on August 28-29 at the Tappero house. We planned a new fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of RI and made decorations for the September 11th Prayer Service.

- By selling hand-made paper links for a 9/11 Prayer Service, we raised almost $50.00 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, RI Chapter. The money will be donated to the charity and will be used to help make children's wishes come true.

- We made quilt panels for the September 11th Quilt celebrating the 9/11 tragedy.

- We created "prayer ornaments" and accepted donations in return for people writing memorials on the ornaments. The ornaments will be placed on a Christmas tree in the church to be blessed. All money raised through this endeavor will be used to purchase Monsters Inc. for a boy in the Choose-A-Child program at the Swansea Mall. Any extra money will be used to purchase another gift.

- We participated in Saint Mark's Holiday Bazaar on November 16th. We made cookie mixes and sold them in decorated jars. We also made "Prayer Rocks" and sold them for 50 cents.

- Our nationwide mural contest based on the theme "Lambs of God" ended in October. The winner has been announced, Kelly McCarthy of Warren. She has received a $50 savings bond and will have her drawing painted on the Sunday School wall.

- The group held a Costume Collection. We received a wonderful and generous donation from a dance school in Portsmouth, RI. We appreciate the donation.

- We also received a large donation of paint from the Jeffrey Balch, Inc. in Barrington to be used to paint our mural.. Thank you!

- The group created paper 'prayer ornaments' that could be made into memorials for a donation. All donations were used to purchase Monsters, Inc. for a little boy, Joshua, for Christmas through the Choose-A-Child program at the Swansea Mall.

- On Saturday, January 25, the group participated in the annual Souper Bowl. We collected donations at the local Stop & Shop for the Cornelia de Lange Foundation. We were able to raise $93.14 to give to the foundation that promotes research into this tragic birth defect.

- For Valentine's Day, we made Valentine cards for the people in the Bristol Veteran's Home.

- In March, we helped St. Mark's Church with their annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper.

- We implemented an Easter Egg Hunt. The Easter Bunny joined us on the special occasion. The admission fee was a canned good, which was donated to Tap-in in Barrington, RI.

- On June 14, 2003, we held a table at St. Mark's annual Lawn Party. We donated 1/3 of our proceeds to the church for allowing us to have a table and the rest of the proceeds will be used to purchase supplies for the Warren Animal Shelter.

- During a June meeting, we made homemade dog biscuits for the local animal shelter.

- During a July meeting, we began a sun-craft project. All of the crafts will be taken to the Grace Barker Nursing Home in Warren so the residents can enjoy them. The suns were taken to the nursing home on September 28th.

- The group made a $25 donation to the RI Community Food Bank through Alan Shawn Feinstein.

- GLYG used the money it raised from the Lawn Party to purchase over $50.00 worth of supplies for the Warren Animal Shelter. Supplies included collars, dishes, food and toys for the animals.

- On August 31st, the group brought all of the purchased animal supplies to the Warren Animal Shelter, where the Dog Officer, Sharon, was glad to accept our donations. We also met the resident animals of the shelter.
