History
The Guiding Light Youth Group was founded by sixteen-year-old Cynthia Lachapelle in April of 2002. With a dream to provide other teens with a safe place to perform community service, Cynthia started the youth group out of her Episcopal Church. Meghan Smith, a current member, coined the group's name Guiding Light. Although, they are no longer part of the Episcopal Church, they continue to run from Cynthia's home. Supervisor, Kathy Tappero has helped tremendously with group projects. Currently, with eight members, the Guiding Light Youth Group conducts community service efforts throughout their hometown of Warren, Rhode Island. |
