He promises to redeem you from the power of death.
But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave, for He shall recieve me (Ps. 49:15)
For the person who doesn't believe in Jesus, death has a lot of power. Death for them is the end of life o earth and he begining of hell-forever. But Jesus promises to rescue His believers "from th power of the grave." He is the one who drove death into the ground. He is more powerful than death. He has beaten death for you. All he asks is that you believe that he died just for you and that you let him redeem you. Then follow him. Wha that means is that yo have to give up trying to  save yourself. You will never be good enough, do enough good deeds, or accomplish enough great things to overcome deat. You son't even have to try anymore.
Right now, right where you are, tell Jesus tha you can't do it yourself, you are drowning in your own sin. Ask him to reach in and rescue you. Hold on tightly as he pulls you to shore and breathes new life into you. Then stand up and follow the one who has rescued you for eternity.
