The son of man has power on earth to forgive sins Luke 5:24 Some schools have a wall in the school post office where they post the exam grades. Students sometimes affectionately refer to those places as the waiting walls. One semester, a young man neglectes to study for a particular exam and his test grade reflected it. They left the grades of that test up the entire semester. It was a continual reminder to him of how he had messed up. You can imagine what a happy day it was for him when they finally took down the grades at the end of the term. He could have tried covering up that exam with a black marker, but every time he went into the school post office, there was that big black mark reminding him of his failure. Jesus is the only one who has the right to forgive your sins. John 1:29 says that he takes them away-completely. When he forgives your sins and tkes them away. It's like you never sinned at all. What a freedom this understanding brings to our lives. Sin doesn't have any more power over you. You are free from all that junk, so you don't need to let rule over you. We are no longer required to sin, because we are free from sin. But if we do mess up, if we do fall short, if we do sin, all we have to do is confess our sins and wham-they're gone God wipes them out. They're history. So if you've been struggling with something, confess your sins to him right now. Jesus is not only going to forgive you of your sins; he is going to see to it that they are taken away. After all, he is the one who forgives, forgets, and removes. see for yourself Proverbs 24:16 Jer. 33:8,9 John 1:29 ROmans 8:12-18 1john 1:7,9
