| First of all go have a little chortle at their website, especially their unfortunate gig stories and the reviews. Then actually go listen to a couple of their songs they have placed up in the site somewhere, this will also make you chuckle with lyrical content to rival Half Man Half Biscuit. The songs are in desperate need of some sprucing up, the amateurishness of it all is cringe worthy at first, however, the songs themselves aren't bad at all, infact they are rather good. 'Supernaturals Enter The 13th Note' is a both catchy and certainly worth a listen, it sure made my toes tap along. The Half Man Half Biscuit comparisons are warranted and with a bit of Moldy Peaches thrown in, it makes for an interesting listen. At the moment their sound is too rough, I do hope that someone decides to improve the sound quality as they might actually appeal to a few more people. I'm sure a live set with some banter would improve my opinion of the band, as well as being far more enjoyable than listening to them at a computer. Clearly the major part of the 'Hector Collection' experience is seeing them live, even if it's for comedy value alone. Overall The Hector Collectors are something different from the usual lo-fi sound.Their fairly unique sound will hopefully help them achieve some more coverage that may earn them a place in the hearts of elitist Indie Kids around the UK, oh yes. Maybe that's a bit hopeful, but go give them a listen anyway and tell them you love them because they're the most fun you'll have in a while. I find them very charming indeed. You can see a review of the bands debut album 'Straight Outta Comprehensive' which was released on JamJar records right...... here Like these and you'll also like...
