Climbs are listed in order of increasing distance from the car or trailhead. Mile 0.0 is the airport intersection.
The 17 Mile Wall is located about 800 vertical feet above the highway on the left (north) side of the Richardson at about mile 16.81. It is a rock rim, similar to that of 19 Mile but shorter and steeper. Just past the entrance to Bear Creek canyon, it faces south and collects as much sun as anywhere. Approaches are often best made on skis at least after snow accumulation has covered most bushes, and a semi-alpine experience can be had. There are six falls visible on the wall, all similar in lenth (150'). Descents are made by rappel down the route or a neighboring route (like Sundance) which has plenty of good alders for anchors.
Mile 16.80 left side of the highway Costa Del Sol III 130' This climb is the center of the group of six waterfalls seen of the 17 Mile wall. It forms up as a double pillar, of which this route took the left side. Mile 16.81 left side of the highway Sundance III 150' This climb is the next to farthest right of the six seventeen mile climbs, and is a pillar which is wider at the bottom than at the top and is basically vertical. Mile 16.82 left side of the highway Last Gasp IV 160' This climb is the farthest right of the group of six climbs and has at it's top a very obvious vertical pillar.
