Imitative and OppositeMy interest in this theme was first stimulated by a reference to the immoral and imitative magic of Baal. This was contained in a popular book on the subject of Freemasonry. Reviewing the costume of initiations and using biblical search engines to isolate specific aspects of the dress appeared to substantiate the principle of imitation. All of the aspects of the initiates dress and the body parts which are exposed have a precedent in biblical text. However such precedents follow a rather sinister theme and tend to focus upon aspects of the bible which relate to the devil or Babylon. It is not imitation of some secret and occult theory. It is immoral imitation of biblical text. Exploring this further demonstrated that numerous aspects of the initiations, the passwords and the signs follow a similar theme. It was apparent that the Freemasonic sign of the square and compass also followed the same mechanism. It was apparent that the Freemasonic symbol of the eye followed such a mechanism. It was apparent that the use of the skull and cross bones followed such a pattern. Investigating the symbolism and passwords of the Royal Arch degree substantiated this theme further. The Royal Arch also draws attention to a particular biblical vision of the flying scroll which describes such a process of imitation. Indeed the N.T. states that the devil impersonates an angel of light. With this in mind it is apparent that such a theme is consistent with occult groups which are openly Satanic. The Ordo Templis Orientalis and the Church of Satan being obvious examples. One incorporates a name for Christ in its title, the other claims to be a church. The same mechanism can be applied to Freemasonic Grand Orient of France and the mysterious body known as the Priore de Sion and its use, or miss-use of biblical terminology. However in the case of the former it was not only apparent that it was an act of imitation but was also intended to be an act of provocation because it is deliberately intended to be blasphemous. Finding evidence of such imitation and immoral spin doctoring, carved in stone, established this theme beyond any reasonable doubt. This whole process is summarised by the words of the brightest character in the annuls of Freemasonry:- ‘ I will be like the most High’. This is repeated time and time again throughout biblical text, usually in association with references to the devil or Babylon. The imitative ‘magic’ of Baal. |
