This document basically says, in a nutshell, that Acting Commissioner, O.P.G. Clark, was requesting Christian Gugle's full military history and the Regiment he served in, the 73rd Indiana Infantry's hospital statements. Christian was trying to get government pension for his sickness'. It states that: while stationed in Stone(s) River, Tennessee, he reported to the hospital because of cholorhora (cholera). A very common disease amoung troops usually contracted through infected water, which the troops were getting from the same area. |
