Prayer of the day

Dear Lord, remind me that as a Christian I need to take time to put myself in another's situation before I form an opinion or criticize. ... Let me first ask myself how I would feel if I were faced with a serious illness, or prolonged unemployment, or had to deal with a wayward son or daughter. How would I react if I were wrongly accused of a crime that I didn't commit? Help me to remember that You taught understanding, compassion, love for one's neighbor, and even for one's enemy. Help me, Lord, lest I forget; for I too am not without sin.
