'KNIGHT' LIVES ON

By: Richard Huff

April 21, 1995

IT WORKED so well before, cable's USA Network is trying it again. It is buying a show that previously aired on CBS.

Having had great success with the former CBS series "Silk Stalkings," the cabler yesterday announced that it has acquired the rights to the action-drama "Forever Knight."

And that doesn't just mean repeats. USA will air 22 new episodes of the show in prime time starting in the fall.

"Forever Knight" stars Geraint Wyn Davis as Nick Knight, a 13th-century vampire living in the modern world. To gain mortality, Knight must atone for his 700 years of sins by working for a big-city police force.

The show launched on CBS in 1992 in late-night and moved into syndication when David Letterman's "Late Show" took its slot in August 1993. The show will continue in syndication (weekends) as well as on USA (weeknights).
