In the place of silence, where everything is calm, deep within our souls, it soothes us like a balm, we walk amid the people, of every race conjoined, who come to seek the nourishment, that feeds both heart and loin. And there as we are walking, does the elf maid then appear, the princess we'd not seen for long, since the graces did draw near. She who did in ages past, join us in the dance, which brought the life of Elfin down, to awaken true romance. So everyone will find the one that is the one for them, and in that finding be the one, that lights the darkened dim. For who are we when we're alone, but ours'elves without our others, longing to unite with them, our sisters and our brothers. And when we find those kindred, who are our very own, we awakened to the truth that is, our kindred are our home.
And yet our lovely princess, looks tired, sick and worn, her spirit still is strong but her body is much torn. Yet she tells us of a cure, that she has found and used, something that will heal her s'elf and her body much abused. Elf water she does called it, for its sparkle and its glow, and it will drive the illness out, cure every disease man knows. It is a living miracle, though few there are that know, for the world of man does thrive on drugs, true healing is their foe. And we will see as time goes on, how this magic works, and if it does, we'll drink to life and all its many perks. For we are elfin, born and bred, and lucky is our kind, and miracles of magic, are ever ours to find.
Driving down the highway, in the land of dreams, we see two feathers by the road, and stop for magic's means. The feathers are enormous, longer than our arms, and with them are two wyzard's staffs, and feathery down their charms. What a gift from Spirit, a magic great and vast, for with these feathers we can fly, and find our home at last. Where is this home we're looking for, why, it is there with you, for what is home but being with our kindred who are true. For home is where the heart is, and where in truth is that, but in your arms and in your heart, and there within your lap. How many times we've said this, and in how many ways, it is a truth eternal, reborn with every day.
The change does comes, not very far, it's near upon us now, there's just a few things left to do, and then we'll take our bow. The shift in magic's in the air, it's clear in all we do, and  words reborn will resonate, and offer up the clues. And will you recognize us, when we return transformed, and what enchantment gave us life, when we are elfin born. Some remembering long ago, will say, ah yes, indeed, we remember who they are, the tree grown from the seed. And it is so, as it must be, we all pass on and grow, or failing that we sink back down and only death will know. Do not fight the changes, they are the future here, by living lives as elfin, we make the future clear. Be what you will be...dear kin,
... whatever that might take, for if you truly are yours'elf, you live for all our sakes. And all we do we do for us, and all you do the same, for what else can we do but live for those by Elfin named. Within our hearts, within our souls, within our spirits old, within our minds, our bodies, too, our love does rise up bold. Live your magic everyday, let it be your banner, in the day, in the night, alike in every manner. If we would an Elfin world, be born upon this Earth, it is we who must with love and magic give it birth. It is we who must be elves and in being make it real, for being is the essence of all we do and feel. For being is reality, that one thing that is true, by being we become, all the things we do. Would you be elfin in your heart and in your body, too, then be and in the being come to make that dream anew. There is nothing simpler, nor more difficult you'll see, then being all you wish, becoming what you'd be, for this is our Destiny. And though there will be struggles and those who'll not believe, we've tricks that they have never seen, tucked on
up our sleeves. And when push comes to shove, they'll find  we are not there, for we are nothing more than starlight in the air.
dear kin,
... has a demon within us. Sometimes referred to as our Shadow, this element of our S'elf, has also been called the Fiend or even our Evil Twin. It resides in our unconscious and is composed of those parts of ours'elves that we, or others, found to be socially unacceptable and which, therefor we have rejected from our conscious understanding of ours'elves. Because of that, these aspects of ours'elf which have been repressed and ignored remain latent and undeveloped, yet still existent and come forth, often at the most inopportune of times, causing embarrassment and denial.
These elves refer to this aspect of the s'elf as a demon, because the word demon, which denotes an evil spirit, comes from the word daemon, which denotes a primal spirit that is potentially helpful. So too our demon/daemon is composed of energies that were quite innocent, even creative in their essence, but simply needed education and channeling, rather than repression and exclusion. Thus in early childhood the tendency to use crayons to decorate the walls of our house in many cases met with severe reprimands, which, potentially could lead to the suppression of the artistic instinct. When, in fact, the creative impulse merely needed to be directed toward the proper medium.
Due to the fact that this aspect of our nature is unconscious, it is extremely hard for us to recognize our own demon. It is most often projected upon others, particularly those that we tend to demonize. It is often seen in the form of generalized prejudice, that is, blacks are like such and such, and whites are so and so and jews are like this and that, men are etc., etc. and women are such and so, etc. all projections of negative qualities. For the elves, there is a tendency to project such generalized demon aspects upon orcs, and goblins and grimlins. But we also project such negative qualities upon the normal folk as a whole. This is not to say that there are not individuals who possess such negative qualities. However, the amount to which our demon is invoked can be seen by the degree of unreasoning, although often rationalized, emotion we connect to the hated person. This becomes especially clear when we take an instant dislike to someone that we've never met previously and know nothing about.
The common elfin dislike of the normals, for instance, in their tendency to be mindless sheep, is often reflected in our own potential of doing the same. We despise what we are afraid of being. And in denying that aspect of ours'elves, we increase the inevitability that it will emerge from us at some point. By being aware of our demon projections on to others, and owning and accepting the fact that we have such tendencies ours'elves, we are able to not only guard ours'elves against our own worse enemy (ours'elves), but also develop those aspect of ours'elves in their most effective and successful fashion.
Thus when we look at the normal folk and their hunger to conform and fear of not doing so, we might develop some compassion for their suffering. At the same time that we might come to see conformity as a tool that can be very useful for us, under the proper circumstances. It is not conformity that is wrong but the motivating force behind it. Are we compelled toward conformity out of fear, or do we chose, by our own will, when and when not to conform. Alternately, do we feel compelled to do things to appear to be unique, out of a fear of appearing to conform? The question is not really, how much do we conform, but how much are we in control and aware of our own responses. Do we conform because we wish to do so or because we feel compelled to do so? Do we strive to be unique out of an inner urge to create the new and different, or because we are afraid of looking normal to our others? Ultimately, as we become aware of our tendencies to conform and not conform and put them in proper perspective, we become more fully aware of our true being and thus we become more fully our S'elves.
It is important for us to realize, that those we despise, hate and scorn are connected to us inwardly by virtue of those very feelings. They are, after all, our feelings and as magicians (and all elves are magicians, intuitively, if not consciously) we need to assume responsibility for our own s'elves. We cannot lay the blame for our feelings on others. To do so is to abnegate responsibility and put the power of our magic in their hands.
However, when we accept this responsibility for our own feelings and responses, we also are in a position to affect the behavior (at least psychically) of that other. For, once again, they are connected to us by our feelings about them, and it is that link that enables us to use our magic to transform our own s'elves and in doing so affect them, as well. For these elves, the key to transforming the world is to be found in the transformation of our own S'elves. As we become in touch with our complete beings, the world begins to shift around us and Elfin, which we had thought to have disappeared so very long ago, or to be hiding from us, appears before our very eyes.
