Friday, February 17, 2002, The New Waterfront hotel floor, of Baltimore was filled with cosplayers and anime lovers waiting on the registration line for the Katsucon 8 convention.

Words such as"Nani?" and "Ogenki Desu ka?" were muttered during the three-day meeting of these anime lovers with people dressing up from characters of Sailor Moon to that of Voltron.

Questions such as "May I take your picture" were muttered across the two floors of the convention. With shot after shot taken of these costume- players, each picture, an addition to the anime-fan�s collection.

Friendships were made friendships were broken. Many of those attended found friendships in book readings, art, and of course cosplaying characters. Finding two people with similar liking to a novel and then becoming friends due to that was shown at the convention by a first hand encounter.

As the three days went by, the cosplaying event taking place and the winners names mentioned as they screamed for join, some only have won for the first time, others their second or third. Those who attended the event in question will always remember Katsucon 8.
