| Osian smiles gently, happy to finally know the name of the one who killed him. "'Tis nice meeting ye, Telarrin. A pleasure indeed." Osian pauses for a moment.. unsure of exactly how to proceed. "Will ye be staying in Moorgate for a while? Perhaps I can show ye around the city a bit.. help ye out.." Telarrin simply sits on the bed, not even acknowledging the question. Just as Osian is about to try again, he speaks. "I think I will stay here. I've no where else of import to go, so I may as well stay." Osian waits for him to continue, but soon realizes that it is in vain. This one never gives out more than he needs to.. he thinks. "So would ye like me to let ye know a bit about the city?" Osian chuckles softly to himself. I'll simply have to ask the questions the right way to get answers, I suppose. Telarrin looks up at Osian briefly, and then shrugs his shoulders. "If you want to so badly, go ahead. I won't stop you." Osian shakes his head softly, but grins a little. "Well, I'd say the main attraction of Moorgate is the four guilds that reside here. They're great centers of learning for those of various skills and talents. They are the monks', the fighters', the rogues', and of the the mage's guild. Upon entering the city, nearly all adventurers choose to join one of the four, and are granted access to tutors who train them in advanced skills." Telarrin frowns a bit. "You mean you have to choose?" Osian blinks. "Well, aye.. of course ye have to choose.. ye cannae be a mage and a rogue both.." Telarrin rubs his chin in thought. "Strange city this is." "Perhaps.." answers Osian. "Perhaps.." "What name are ye known by?" Telarrin opens his mouth to answer, but the response doesn't come automatically as it should. What is my name? he thinks. After a few moments he answers. "Call me Telarrin." Yes.. Telarrin.. He mouths the name to himself silently, trying to get a feel for it. That must be it... Osian's voice interrupts Telarrin's thoughts. "'Tis nice meeting ye, Telarrin. A pleasure indeed." Osian he's called.. where have I heard that name before.. He closes his eyes for a moment thinking, trying to remember, but so much has been lost. "Will ye be staying here in Moorgate for a while? Perhaps I can show ye around the cit ya bit.. help ye out.." Again Osian's voice breaks through Telarrin's thoughts. I was to go somewhere.. something important.. He keeps his eyes closed, thinking, trying to remember. Sailing.. was it to here? Moorgate? It was so important.. I must remember.. "I think I will stay here. I've no where else of import to go, so I may as well stay." He finally answers. I'll just stay here until I remember what it was I was to do.. it had best be soon.. so important. Telarrin again concentrates on trying to remember his past, and once more Osian interrupts him "So would ye like me to let ye know a bit about the city?" Telarrin looks up at Osian for a moment. This one never gives up, does he.. He shrugs his shoulders. "If you want to so badly, go ahead. I won't stop you." Telarrin takes a deep breath, and let's it out in a bit of a sigh, waiting for Osian to begin. "Well I'd say the main attraction of Moorgate is the four guilds that reside here. They're great centers of learning for those of various skills and talents. They are the monks', the fighters', the rogues', and of course the mage's guild. Upon entering the city, nearly all adventurers choose to join one of the four, and are granted access to tutors who train them in advanced skills." Where's one like me supposed to go, then? Fighters? Mages? "You mean you have to choose?" Telarrin looks up to see Osian's look of confusion. "Well, aye.. of course ye have to choose.. ye cannae be a mage and a rogue both.." Why would they make a system like this? Strange city this is. The last thought came out as a bit of a mumble. "Perhaps.." answers Osian. "Perhaps.." Osian sits back for a few moments, thinking, before continuing. "I nearly forgot.. there is another guild. 'Tis a bit different from the others. It is called the Adventurer's Guild. Everyone joins that guild. After a short quest, that's quite simple, they'll help ye out a lot.. teaching ye some survival skills, and giving ye a bit of gold to live by." Osian stops for a second and peers at Telarrin, considering. "Since ye obviously do nae have much here, I'd recommend going there and doing the quest they speak of. Ye could probably also find a room there to stay at while ye are in Moorgate." Telarrin simply nods. "Give me some more of that draught, would you lad? I'd like to be back up on my feet as soon as possible." Osian nods. "Of course." He hands the remainder of the potion to Telarrin, who downs it quickly. "I'll need to gather a few herbs before I can make any more of that. I think I'll go now.. the early morning is a wonderful time to be outside. As for ye.. ye should get some sleep if ye wish to recover quickly. I'll return soon." After another nod for Telarrin, Osian smiles, gathers his possessions, and makes his way down the stairs. Telarrin watches Osian disappear down the staircase. He tosses the bottle that had contained the herbal draught onto the floor, watching it shatter. Osian... Moorgate... I've heard those names before, I know it. He sits up in the bed slightly, and holds his head in his hands. There's something wrong about all of this.. something strange. I'm not sure about that lad. He's hiding something. Telarrin lets out a deep sigh. Suppose there's nothing I can do yet, though. Just regain my strength, maybe check out these guilds the lad's been babbling about. Perhaps I should speak with someone.. a mage.. see if my memory can be restored. Telarrin shakes his head and sighs again. He slinks back down under the bed covers, and goes to sleep. |
