| We went to the WB on the fourth day of our trip. You need to call and make a reservation a week in advanced and that keeps the tours really small. There were 9 people on our group. They take you around on a golf cart type thing and you roll past all the sets. The best part about our tour was that we were the last ones of the day and our guides were a little fried. They actually told us that before the tour. There was 18 people and two guides, but we were basicly split up for most of the time. Our guide was 'floopy' and in a way let us do what ever we wanted. The first place they take you is to a mini museum of mostly clothes and scripts old actors used for movies. I am not a movie person so this had no meaning to me really. The up stairs was a tribute to Harry Potter so I thought of all the girlies I know who like and are reading it! The guide then made some small talk and asked which sets we would try to see. (It was hard because most shows were back and taping that day and you can't go near the sets if that was the case). Of course Alaina squeaked loudly and in one breath FRIENDS!! We came to a stop which I think was studio 28. The lady then let out that it was the FRIENDS set. Alaina freaked out while the guide said she was just kidding playing with her mind. As we went inside and peered around the corner you saw a set that appeared to be a lounge set up. That totally through us off track! But we soon realized that it was the hospital set up from the end of the last season of FRIENDS! Saddly it was in front of all the main sets so we could only see Ross's and part of Joey's apartment. The crew was still setting things up for the first week back. There in front of us was a long table with all the stars chairs around it. There was even a coffee cup in front of Matthew Perry's chair! The actors don't have to be there until Tuesday of any given week and we were there on a Monday so there was no sightings! We sat in the set for about 30 to 45 minutes while she explained how sitcoms work. I don't think I was listening more zoning out and glancing at everything before me. Every prop, light, and beams above us. It was all too cool! Any way after some time there we went back on the cart. We got to walk around all the back lots where they have all the fake buildings and towns set up. After that we got to go to the outside set for ER (my second favorite show ever!). The guide rambled something about they had several different sound stages where they actually filmed in. If you watch the show at all they showed the famous basketball net and Doc Magoos. Definatly an awesome time. After they dropped us off we did a lot of shopping in the store they had. The prices were very reasonable there! |
