*Wow, there are so many of them. I guess I should start with the basic stuff. This is only our guards second year, (first year competing competitively), but most people don't believe us. It's been an awesome experience learning this art. From the basic moves, to more complex combinations the energy that you can put into it is incredible. Even more so, the people you meet, and the ties you make are unbreakable. Last season, our guard was inseperable. During everything from practices to regualr school days, we were always together. This year, we're a bigger guard so it's a little harder, but at least some of us are always together. I must say, probably my two best memories are at West Chester's Guard camp last summer. Six of our guard members went, and we had a blast. I think we drove a lot of the people crazy because we were so loud. But I learned so much, and had a great time. And the other memory is winning our first competitive competition this season. We weren't really expecting!

"This was one of the few times Lampasas High School has been competing for Winter Guard.  Our first real competition was last Saturday.  We had done so great performing and we were having the greatest time ever.  When the time came for the scores to be announced, all of the guard was up in the stands with our "fearless leaders" down on the floor.  It got to the point where they were to announce the placement of the Regional A.  Me and two other best friends were at the top of the stands holding hands and praying we did good.  They announced all the way to 4th place, and everyone was so happy.  We hadn't been mentioned yet and it meant we had gotten a trophy!! Our guard instructor was crying with tears of joy along with all of the guard. I mean we were still at 4th and we were already celebrating. When we didn't get called for 3rd, we all jumped up with joy.  Then they got to 2nd..."With a score of 89.8- Lampasas Illusion Winter ! Guard!!"
