Puns
�I am, indeed, sir, a surgeon
to old shoes;�   The Second Commoner is stating that he is a surgeon but works on old shoes, instead of bodies.
�sir, a mender of bad soles�  The second commoner is stating that he is a mender of bad soles, the word soles can be referred to as the soles found on shoes, or the souls found in a body.

Metaphors
�These growing feathers pluck'd from Caesar's wing�  FLAVIUS is comparing Caesar to a bird.
�O you hard hearts, you cruel men of Rome�  MARULLUS is saying that the men have hearts made of stone.

Similes
�I was born free as Caesar�  CASSIUS is saying that him and Caesar were born with the same freedom.
�we can both endure the winter's cold as well as he�  Cassius is saying that he and Brutus can live through the cold weather as well as Caesar.

Images:
�Walk under his huge legs�  CASSIUS is saying that Caesar has a lot of power.
�To find ourselves dishonourable graves�  Cassius creates a picture of a grave with a plaque with the words �dishonourable� written across it.
�I am glad that my weak words
Have struck but thus much show of fire from Brutus.� This quote lets me picture Brutus full of emotions and heated up by Cassius� words.

Scansion:

Different tones:

Poetry = Cassius: �And after this let Caesar seat him sure;

Prose = CASCA

Blank Verse = BRUTUS �What a blunt fellow is this grown to be!
He was quick mettle when he went to school.�  He speaks in a normal tone towards the middle class.

The 3 people talk in different ways to attract the different people in the audience.


Characteristics:

Caesar:  He loves power, he is powerful, he gets ahead of himself, he is well liked by the community, he isn�t too well liked by the government people, he doesn�t really Cassius.
Brutus: He is loyal to Caesar, he is one of the few who likes Caesar, he is virtuous, he is more of a leader than a follower, he is the person who is needed to ruin Caesar.
Cassius: He is power-hungry, he wants to ruin Caesar, he is jealous of Caesar, he tries to persuade Brutus to help ruin Caesar, he is fake.
