***Personal Note***

My name is Guanjin, Age 17, born on November 12 and going by the nick of BabyDonkey, from where I got this nick comes from a long story. hEe hEe ^_^ I spend most of my days at home more than anyone else. Anyway, this is my first time writing an walkthrough or FaQ. Seriously, I only read them for great games such as Chrono Trigger, Secret Of Mana 2, Final Fantast 7 etc. I enjoy reading them but I never thought of writing one, until some people e-mailed to me suggest me to write one. Since the end of my holidays are still half a year away, and I'am going to be murdered by boredom, I'll write one walkthrough for FF7, and maybe for FF8 once I got back my guidebook from my friend. I hope you enjoy this walkthrough as much as I enjoyed writing it. ;)

Oh and, feel free to distribute this walkthrough around but be nice, DO NOT alter this walkthrough when distributing and DO NOT sell this walkthrough for profit! Be good and be nice! (=^_^=)

***Walkthrough***

--No.1 Mako Reactor--
The movie, wow Cool! See it 2nd time, 3rd time, 4th, and you start to get annoyed and you start talking to the screen, well nevermind. At the end of the movie, you see two guys jumping off the train and knock the soldiers lights out on patrol. Finally, you see someone in purple jumping off the train, you get to control him. Hold [cancel]+ directional button to run. Run up and you'll meet 2 Shinra Soldiers running towards you, dispose them and continue up then left.

On the next screen move down then right and you'll see some going ons here, hear them what they have to say and after that you get to set the name of your main character and the leader of AVALANCHE. Set cute names if you want, nobody will see it anyway. Follow the path until you see some going ons again. After the conversation the leader of AVALANCHE will join you. Talk to the man near the pink light and the door will open and move on. Again talk to the person standing in front of the pink light and the door will open again. After you run through the door head down the small bridge and grab the chest there. Go back and go right and talk to the person standing in front of the pink light and the door will open. Enter and hear some conversations..... You'll meet some enemies on the way but don't worry they are easy to dispose of.

After you got out of the lift, run down the lOong stairs and just enter the door at the end of the long run. Follow the path the game gives you until you reach a save point, save, don't be afraid to use some potions to recover your hps as you are going to meet your first boss soon. Take the 'restore' materia in your path, don't bother to try to equip it, you can't do that yet. Anyway once you are ready go forward get ready to meet your first boss, Guard Scorpion.

*Boss: Guard Scorpion*
This boss is very easy, provided you don't try to hit it while it is in 'Guard' mode or it will use Tail laser which will deal 70+ damage! OucH!. His guard mode is when his tail rises up, you'll get the first warning from Cloud and Barret in the middle of the fight. Wait until it lowers it's tail before you pour everything on it. It uses search scope before it attacks. Guard Scorpion is a machine so use Cloud's Bolt magic. Keep your Hps at 100 and above and you should be safe. Soon, this machine will be scrap metal. You'll get Assult Gun after the battle.

Once you are done with the boss, you are given 10 minutes to get out of this place. Relax, it's more than enough, retrace your steps and run out of this place (Don't even try to walk out of this place, I doubt you can walk out by 10 minutes) remember to talk to Jessie you met on your way out. Equip the Assult Gun on Barret you got from defeating Guard Scorpion. Once you are out, you get to meet Aeries on the way. Continue your way out and you'll meet some Shinra Soldiers on the way, you can choose to fight them or run. Go ahead and make your choice if you want a couple more of experience go ahead and fight them all! ^_^ Anyway, no matter what you choose, in the end, Cloud will jump onto a train where he will meet up with Barret and others.

--Sector 7--
Now you'll see the conversation between Barret and others. Then after a while, Wh0A! Cloud suddenly jumps into the scene! (look at how high barret jumps when he saw Cloud hee hee....) anyway, just follow them and jump off into the next scene.....On the next screen, just go down and talk to jessie, in case you forgot who Jessie is, it's the one standing next to the man in yellow, the one in black and brown shorts. She'll talk to you about Midgar and it's sectors. Once it's over, go back and talk to barret. Once you are out of the train, go left, on the next screen, go up and save here. To the left of you is Sector 7 Slums, there are some shops which sell armor and materia here, but explore them later, go ahead and talk to barret who is waiting outside a place named Tifa's 7th heaven. Once you are inside, you get to know a new person in your party, Tifa, and again you get to name her, and again give cute names if you want. Once you are ready try to leave this place. Barret will burst out followed by some going ons. Once it's over, now you can talk to Tifa or follow barret down the escalator. Once you have gone down, talk to Barret. Once the business is over, go up the escalator and try to leave Tifa's 7th Heaven again. You'll see the promise Cloud made to Tifa, later Barret will come up and give you his Stash that is worth 1500 gil! You'll sleep and wake up at the bottom floor, take the escalator up again and talk to Barret. This time you'll be introduced the materia system. And you will be able to equip the 'Restore' Materia you found in No.1 Mako Reactor. Now, feel free to explore the whole town and buy what you need. Once you are ready head back to the train station and enter the train.

--Busted!--
There will be some going ons in the train, once it's over talk to Tifa and....Opps, looks like you are busted! Ran dun the train all the way to the end. Take it easy, it doesn't matter if you made it or not, it's either you jump off faster off the train or abit slower. Oh by the way you can get a free hi-potion, to get this, from your starting position, move on to the next screen. On the next screen, at the end you'll see someone standing at the bottom-left hand corner with glasses, talk to him and choose the first option, he'll give you a hi-potion! Finally you'll jump off the train....

--On to No.5 Mako Reactor!--
And end up on the railways, head up all the way until you are blocked, then you'll see a hole at the left side, you can go in from there. Anyway, if you wanna earn a couple of gils and experience, you can instead head down and fight Shinra Soldiers, there is a infinity number of them(you beat one group and another comes in, you can choose to fight on or run away), once your done, just go up to move on.

Once your inside just follow the path and on the end you'll meet up with wedge. Go up the ladder as instructed and you'll meet up with Jessie, go left from here, climb down the ladder and go up, you'll meet Briggs here, head right for a free tent and a save point. Next, go up the ladder next to briggs.

On the next screen just move south-east and you'll slide down! (whoo hoo!) the path is same as what you did earlier. To the door west of you. Follow the path, plant the bomb (this time, no boss waiting for you), retrace your path, but this time up the stairs. Follow the path again, and you'll eventually reach a place with a treasure box, grab it and cross the bridge to your left. You'll enter a test.....you have to hit the button with your party, once you are done, a door will open. Go through the door, heal and save. And get ready for an upcoming boss.

*Boss: Air Buster*
Another easy boss, this raw-bot is a machine so bolt magic works well on it. Physical attacks works well on it too, just attack his back. Keep your hps above 150, just hit it's back with physical attacks and bolt and this machine will be scrap metal. You'll get Titan Bangle after you beat it.

--Aeries and The Turks--
The raw-bot will explode and Cloud will be hanging on with a hand. And later you'll be given an option, choose anything, because Cloud is bound to fall. You'll end up in a Church in sector 5, here you'll have a talk with Aeries, later you'll see a man outside, go near him then go back and talk to Aeries. Some going ons as usual...

--Run! Run! Run!--
And you'll move to the back of the Church, you'll have control over Cloud now, Aeries is also in your party, equip the Titan Bangle that you got it from the boss and also equip materia on Aeries. Follow the path and you'll see Cloud and Aeries trying jumping over. Cloud jumped over, but the Shinra Soldiers were quick to react and started firing and opps! Aeries fell to the ground! You'll control Aeries and Cloud one after another. Just play the way you like it. At the end of 3 battles, Aeries will jump over and join Cloud. You'll have control over Cloud and Aeries again. There's a log that faces 45 degrees north-west, run into that and you'll jump to another log. You'll come to another screen standing on roofs, just follow the path, hear some conversations and finally you land on the ground. Go West from here and use the save point, go west again to another screen. Then go north. You'll enter Sector 5 Slums. Again, explore the town, buy what you need. There is a house to the furthest right, enter the house go upstaiars, read the article on the wall, it reads about turtle paradise, I'll brief more about it below. And a secret drawer that contains 10 gil, be nice and leave the 10 gil alone(10 gil is nothing to you) later you can come back for a turbo ether! which is worths more than 10 gil. Once you are done with shopping, go north-east and head to the next screen.

**Side Quest**(optional)
Turtle Paradise: There are total of 6 articles all over the map, read them and finally when you go to the turtle paradise in Wutai, you'll be given various power ups. You can read the first article in this Slum. I'll state the available Turtle Articles that you come across in the walkthrough.

--Aeries House--
Before you enter the houuse, check out to the right of the house for 2 free items, grab them, use the save point if you want and enter the house. You'll hear some conversations, go upstairs and you'll see abit of Cloud's past. Once you wake up, take the white bag near the door, now you have to walk out quietly. To do this, simply walk to the top corner along it then up then left to the stairs. Use walking, running will alert Aeries and you have to start all over. Once you reach downstairs, you can start running. Enter the Sector 5 slums to your right, on sector 5 slums exit the slums to the left. On the next screen head left again and whOA! you'll see Aeries waiting for you.

--Miss Cloud!--
You'll need to pass through this area to get to another sector, the enemies here are tough, just keep a close eye to your hp and you should be safe. Once you passed through, you'll come to a playground, watch the conversation going on.... Later, you'll see Tifa! You'll see Aeries running away and you have control over Cloud. Follow Aeries, to the next screen head up to a new town! Explore and do some shopping here. Better equipment here are available for sale here. Also this town consists of two sections 1 to the north. Be sure to check it out, because the weapon/ armor shop is on the upper section. Anyway once you are ready, head bottom right and talk to the plump guy in red. Then ask him about 'Do you know a girl named Tifa?', once you are done exit to the left. Then north all the way until you come to a house and talk to the guy in green there. Next exit south and head south again to the bottom section of the town. Enter the house on the top-left on the bottom section of the town and talk to the saleswoman there. Go north to the upper section of the town. Go up then left to the bar (just left of weapon/ armor shop). Once inside talk to the man to the right of the entrance. Once you are done talking to him, return to the dressing shop and talk to the oldman again. After a short going ons, head to the gym which is bottom of the weapon/ armor shop. You'll play a mini-game here, doesn't matter if you win or lose, you still get the wig. Head back to the dressing shop again! Ta Da! here comes Miss Cloud!

--Encounter with Don Corneo--
Now, head all the way north and talk to the guy in green again. You'll be able to enter the mansion. Once inside, you'll hear some conversations, after that go up the stairs and head all the way left and enter the through the open door. You'll hear some conversation about Tifa's motive to come here. Later you'll control Cloud and his party(Aeries and Tifa) Equip the equipment you bought in Wall Market(this town that his) and equip materia on Tifa, double check your equipment because after this even there will be a boss. Once you are ready, exit to the right and enter the door in the centre. After Don Corneo made his choice, you'll have control over Cloud and you'll find that you are in a room with some guys. Just talk to everyone then finally talk to the guy on top-centre.(the guy in green). Next Cloud will make his stand and you'll be thrown into a fight, don't worry these guys are easy to dispatch. Once you finish your business with them, exit south and head to the room to the left. Go down, and Aeries will join you, now exit right and enter the centre door. Go all the way north and you'll hear some going ons.

--To sector 7!--
You'll have control over Cloud now, grab the item that is to the left of you(go up the stairs first that is below you) then talk to Tifa and Aeries. You may also want to Heal up and equip items first before you talk to them, because there is a upcoming boss.

*Boss: APS*
This is where Limit Breaks come in handy, APS will often use sewer Tsunami to damage itself and your party members, use Aeries healing wind and Cloud's and Tifa's Limit Breaks to damage APS. Just in case, keep your hps above 150. Just keep the pressure up and it would be over soon.

--To Sector 7!(continued)--
Once you are done with the boss climp the stairs to your right, follow the path, climb down the stairs, down and up the stairs and take the Steal materia, head right and 'talk' to the whole in front, and select 'jump down'. On the next screen move right, go down, up, up to the next platform and right and finally climb up the ladder. Welcome to the train graveyard, save in the save point here, go through the train door next to you from the other way out, and 'talk' to the barrel for a hi-potion, retrace your steps back to the save point, this time up the ladder. All the way up, until you jump onto a platform, move north-west to go down. Then right enter the train door, down then right to get out. up the ladder then go up, down the ladder, up, enter the train door, up, exit the train door, head up to the next screen. On the next screen, head left then down for a free item, up, further left again, then down and 'talk' to the barrel for an ether. Anyway you can try and fight a monster named Eligor here(A ghost riding one a beast with a pointed head) steal from it and get a striking staff for Aeries(stronger than the staff you bought in wall market). Anyway, go east and enter the train door. You get to control the train, move forward to push the train away. Then go up, enter the train door again(there's another train above) ride the train forward again. Now, climb up the ladder, take the item, go up(jump onto the train top) then left all the way.

--Rescue Barret!--
Watch the going ons here, and you'll see wedge come crushing down high above. Next, you'll have control over Cloud and Tifa, go up, save in the save point here, and run up the stairs until you reach barret.(This is going to save me giving directions ^_^) Well, I believe by the time you reach Barret, your eyes will be circulating in circles. Talk to Briggs and Jessie on your way if you want. Anyway you'll meet up with Barret at the top. Talk to him, you'll be given a chance to check your equipment. Do so, because Barret has no materia equiped! Also, heal up, because you are going to face a boss next! (relax the boss isn't the helicoptor)

*Boss: Reno of the Turks*
Easy boss, as usual keep your Hps above 150 to be safe. This boss is able to freeze your character by using Pyramid on your character, simply attack your character under the effect of pyramid. Pour everything you got on him while keeping your Hp in check. Fire spell works well on him. You get a ether out of this battle.

--Get outta here! (Also featuring Barret the Tazan)--
Now, watch as Reno commit suicide by jumping down! Nah, Reno the mouse is actually jumps to ride the helicoptor to flee. Meanwhile Tifa is trying to stop the bomb. Talk to Tifa first, then 'Talk' to the machine. Looks like there is no stopping to it! Just watch the going ons and once you have control over Cloud, talk to Barret, watch him jump, then talk to him again. And watch Cloud and Tifa having ride with Barret the Tazan! Once you landed you'll see a long conversation. At the end of it Cloud will walk out. Now you get to control Cloud. Try exit this place to another exit (actually it's the entrance, where you first time came into this place), until Barret and Tifa will catch up with you. Now head back to the playground and 'talk' to the yellow stone, you'll get a new materia.

--Rescue Aeries!--
Head to Aeries house now and talk to her mum, once you are done, head to wall market. Head to the weapon shop and talk to the man to the left, just stand along the fence facing him to talk to him, buy the batteries from him. Which you'll need later. Head to Don Corneo's Mansion, you'll find some boys found something special, follow them, talk to the girl in red and you'll find that there's a rope that leads to Shinra Headquaters. Climb up all the way and follow the path (you'll come across your chance to use batteries), eventually you'll come to an obstacle that requires you to jump onto a swinging rod, the tip here is to observe the swing, jump only when the swing is going back. Don't worry if you fail, you can always try till you make it. Anyway at the end of this wire maze(what I call it) you'll reach the Shinra Headquarters. You'll will be given a choice to burst through the entrance like a hero you see in the movies or find another route in. Choose any because it doesn't affect what route you choose, save first at the save point nearby. I'll brief through the 2 routes now: The other way in is to the top-left you just run a lOOOooooong fleet of stairs and you get a mega-elixir from that run, on the plus side you meet no enemies. The main route is through the front door. You'll meet some enemies on the way, on the plus side you gain some exp and ap. If you use the front door you'll use the lift. Anyway, either route you choose, you'll end up on floor 59. Once there, go to centre and Shinra troops will engage you, fight them off, they will leave a keycard 60 behind. Keycards play a main role in this building, they give you access to certain floors, for example keyboard 65 gives you access to floor as far as 65! That means you could access floor 61-64 as well. But not every floor has a keycard. For your convenience, I'll break the section. *Note: There is a Turtle Paradise Article here, only available if you go by the front door, it is at north-east on the wall, just right of the lift in the centre.*

-Floor 60
Head to top-left through the door, you'll find you need to do something here, that is, sneak through the guards, Cloud will go first (later you singal others), the way to pass them is simple, just wait for the guards to walk sideways, take this chance to pass to another statue. You get caught if they are facing down(towards you). Hiding behind the statue keeps you safe from being discovered no matter where the guards is facing. Eventually you'll make it and move on to the 61st floor.

-Floor 61
Go to bottom-centre and talk to the man walking near the lifts, he'll ask you something, answer '....' and he'll give you keycard 62! Take the stairs up(or lift) to 62nd floor.

-Floor 62
Talk to everyone here (there are only 2 person here) Well, the man in brown gives you the keycard, Clues are dropped in the Library(the sign outside and the books inside) the game chooses a different password everytime. You can reload your save game and try again if you want. If you wanna get the answer right away, check Spoiler Alert below, if you wanna solve it yourself, please don't look below! You'll get a keycard 65 after you guess it correct.(No matter how many times)

**Spoiler Alert!**
Check out the sign outside each of the library. They tell you what library that is. Go inside check all 6 types of files you'll see inside(2 in each shelve) and look for files doesn't doesn't belong to the library, or doesn't come under the type of the library you are in. Next match the number to the letter. For example, History of Acients doesn't come under Space Devision Library. And the number on History of Acients is 5, so check the 5th letter, that is 'O'. Repeat this pattern for other 3 libraries. In the end you'll collect 4 letters, and match the answers, scrabble the letters also! They can be in any order! Go to Floor 63 by stairs.(or by lift)

-Floor 63
Go to the room below and 'talk' to the computer, just follow what the computer ask you to do. I'll give a short brief, there are 3 coupons in this level (I only managed to access 2) you can exchange these coupons for items, but you can only exchange 1 coupon. To access the coupons you got to open 3 doors then you'll get access to the white bag(coupon). Take it back to the computer to begin exchange. Move on to Floor 64.

-Floor 64
Nothing much here, you can rest and save up on centre-left. To the back of this place there are some lockers, some are opened and you can grab free items there. There is also a mega-phone which is Caith Sith's Ultimate Weapon. Unfortunately, you can't hang on to it. Move on to Floor 65

-Floor 65
In this floor you'll get random enemy encounters. What you need to do here is to get the Keycard 66. In this floor you'll find a central with no treasure boxes and some rooms with treasure boxes. In these treasure boxes you'll find Migar Parts, will you'll need to insert it into the structure in central. Only one treasure box is opened at a time, while others will be locked. First enter the central to light up inside.(right above you) Then, check out all treasure boxes until you find a Migar Part from the opened one. Once you got Migar Part, go to the central and insert the Migar Part by 'Talking' to the structure. Again, check out all the treasure boxes till you find Migar Parts and insert the Migar Part in the structure. Repeat until all treasure boxes but one is not opened. The last treasure box (near the stairs) would be Keycard 66. Onward to Floor 66!

-Floor 66
North-west of here there is a toilet enter the toilet and enter one of the toilet door(actually you can only access one) Choose 'Climb up', once you are up there, press down all the way till there is something happening. Go out head down and go back to the stairs. Follow him upstairs.

-Floor 67
Go all the way down then left then up. You'll see some going ons here. After that move north-east until you see a treasure box which contains the Bio Materia and a save point. Heal and save here and enter the door, which is an escalator to Floor 68. Get ready for a upcoming boss.

*Boss: H0512*
This boss is hard, but as long as you keep your eyes on your Hps (above 100, 150 to be safe) it should be ok. This boss is broken up into 2 parts, the main one behind and the 3 yellow balls in front. The 3 yellow bits(as I call them) can be killed, but don't bother to do so as the main boss will resurrect them immidiately. Aim for the main boss behind, it's on the back row, physical attacks will do half damage, so use magic and limit breaks to take it down. Once the main boss is destroyed the 3 yellow bits follows along.

--Escape--
After your done with the boss, take the yellow materia enemy skill where you fought the boss. (yellow ball) Next take the stairs(in brown) and follow the path. Go up take the 2 blue items up there, next talk to the guy standing up there, he'll hand you the Keycard 68 which you'll need later. Head back down, through the door with 3 green lines, take the stairs down to 66 floor and take the evalator. (actually you can take any evalator)

--Death and return of Sephiroth--
Long conversation and a long going on, after you are put in jail, just talk all the way till you get the choice to sleep. Once you wake up, you'll find the door open go outside and 'talk' to the dead soldier then go back and talk to Tifa again. Follow what they give you, then head to the escalator to go up to Floor 68. Go through the door with 3 green lights and use the stairs and go up to Floor 69. Once there head left, use the save point then up to Floor 70 for a nasty surpise.

--Escape--
Once the going ons on floor 70 is over, enter the door to the north, follow the path for a speech from President Rufus himself. Once it's over, you'll control over the party, Aeries, Barret and Red XIII with Aeries as the lead. You'll be given the choice of removing Tifa's and Cloud's materia. Do it because there is an upcoming boss. Equip Materia on Aeries, Barret and Red XIII. Head right, down then left to get to the evalator. Now prepare to meet.....

*Boss: Hundred Gunner*
Cool! I like this fight, watch as the glass shatters all over! Simply too cool! Anyway this boss is a machine so lightning magic works well on it. Also you cannot attack Hundred Gunner with melee attack (Red XIII and Aeries can't attack it since their weapons are not ranged). So rely on Limit Breaks, magic and Barret's attack to knock his boss down. Should be easy with Aeries healing all the party members with healing wind. Hps above 150 is recomended. Don't be too happy yet! After you won, because there's another coming along!

*Boss: Heli Gunner*
Use the same strategy as the Hundred Gunner, and you should break this machine down in no time! You'll get a Mythril Amulet after you won.

Back to Cloud, equip materia on Cloud, and get ready for a one man show. The one on one! Uh, it's not really one on one, because Rufus bought his dog along to fight.

*Boss: Rufus and Dark Nation*
Follow these simple steps, kill Dark Nation first, then head on next to Rufus, heal when your Hp get 100 0r below. Just pour everything you got. You get a Protect Vest and a Guard Source after you won.

--Escape (continued)--
After you finish your business with him, head right then up. Down the stairs, save at the save point if you want. Talk to Tifa and watch some going ons. Next you'll be looking at Cloud riding on a bike cooly, while others are riding on a van. On to....

--Mini Game: Beat the Baddies bikers--
Set up your party members, re-equip materia, because at the end of this mini-game you'll face a boss. With Cloud on a bike, you are required to slash those enemy bikers. To knock them off their bikes to prevent them to damage the van (which will damage your party members) The game is easy and is fun to play by yourself, so I won't brief you further.

*Boss: *
Keep your Hps 250 or above (This Boss uses an attack Roller Fire which deals to all party members 200+ damage! OuCh!). This boss is a machine, so again, Lightning magic works well on it. As long as you watch your Hps and give the boss pressure, the Boss will give way sooner or later. You'll get a star predant after this battle.

-The Heroes path-
Watch a conversation, once you get to control Cloud, Walk down and you'll be given 2 choices, to stay or to go. Go when you are ready, choose your party and head north-east to a town named Kalm (Just the mini-map to assist you to find this town) the white box spot north-east of Migar is the town you are looking for. Keep in mind you can save anywhere in the World Map! Also you can learn your first enemy skill, Matra Magic by searching for the Custom Sweeper Monster by random encounters. Just wait for the Custom Sweeper to cast Matra Magic on your character equipped with Enemy Skill materia.

*Note: You can save anywhere in the world map! Save often!*

-A tragic past-
Once you reach Kalm, enter the inn, and watch a long story of Cloud's past. Once you are done, explore the town, buy new materia and new armor and weapons for your party members. Next head North-East of Kalm to another town: Chocobo Farm.

*Note: With the PHS, you may switch your characters anywhere in the world map or at save points*

-Chocobo!-
Once you enter the chocobo farm, talk to the chocobo from the fence south. Answer 'Wark' and you'll see chocobo dance and awarded with your first summon spell, Chocobo/mog Summon. Enter the chocobo farmer's house at the north (with a chocobo logo on top! ;P) talk to the farmer, he'll sell you the chocobo lure materia, buy it because you'll need it. Buy some greens if you want, so that chocobo will stay longer in battles. Next I'll breif you on how to catch a chocobo, go outside to the world map, check for Chocobo Tracks (the ground has alot of arrows) and while you are equipped with the chocobo lure materia, run on the surface of the chocobo tracks until you meet enemies, sometimes you'll meet a chocobo with enemies. To catch the chocobo, kill off the enemies without touching the chocobo. Here's the reason why you need a chocobo, south of the farm lies a swarm, you'll see a long snake shadow in that swarm, that is the Migar Zolom, a very powerful monster that is impossible to beat with your current levels now. Using a Chocobo is faster than using your characters, so that you and advoid the Migar Zolom and reaching the cave at the end of the swarm. Keep away from the Migar Zolom and reach the cave!

-The Turks move-
Once you are inside the cave, head right for some goodies. On the next screen, you'll see a cliff just above you. At the right end side of this cliff is a long branch which you could climb up and grab the 'Long Range' Materia. Once you got it, back down then up the stairs and take the 2 items. Exit this place to the left. Also there is another enemy skill to learn here, it's called 'Flame Thrower', learned from a flying dragon monster you'll encouner here (Ark Dragon). Back to the entranace, head south-east for a mind source. Exit this cave to the top-left. You'll see a conversation between Turks and your party members, after that exit north first. Take the 2 items there, exit south. Then climb up the trunk and exit this cave. You and may to finish 2 side quests first before proceeding ahead. Side quests are optional, but may aid your party members and add more fun to your game.

*Side Quest: New member, Yuffie*
Just north-west of your position, you'll see a huge bushes of forest with a large hill behind, keep on fightning there inside the bushes of forest until you encounter a Ninja. Beat her and talk to her, answering her questions. Do not use the save point or she'll run away!

"You spikey-headed jerk! One more time, let's go one more time!
Answer "Not interested"

"You are pretty scared of me, huh!?"
Answer "Petrified"

"I'm gonna leave! I mean it!"
Answer: "Wait a second!"

"You want me to go with you?"
Answer: "That's right"

"Alright! I'll go with you!"
Answer: "Let's hurry"

She'll join you after that. You may want to steal a boomerang from Formula a purpled-colour flying monster that you may encounter in this forest. Which is a weapon that is better than Yuffie's Current Weapon.

*Side Quest: Font Condor*
Just south of the forest you'll see a tower with a huge bird on top, that is Font Condor. Enter the place, and a guy there will ask you to help him. Agree to it and follow the path all the way until you meet a oldman with a hat lying his head on the table. Talk to him, he'll brief you. South-east of here is a free Inn, north-east lies a Item and materia shop and finally north-west is where the battle begins. I'll give you a short briefing on what you need to do, for further details, talk to the guy at north-west, he'll give some helpful information as well as letting you take part in battles. Basically, you need to stop shrina units and monsters from reaching the Font Condor house. Once the enemy unit reaches the house, Cloud and his party members will engage a fight. You still can win this way, but you won't get any items after you won. To stop shinra troops from reaching the house, you may deploy troops of your own, but with your own gil. Also beating the main boss among the Shinra Troops gives you instant wins, but it's not easy however, as it comes last and has huge amount of hp. After you won, you may check back later for more battles, usually new battles are available through new events, such as heading to a new town etc.

-Junon-
Once you are ready, head north-east to Junon (The structure looks like a cannon) Then head west, you'll find a scene going on. Nice scene but a boss is going to spoil it. Well, obviously you are going to take on this boss yourself.

*Boss: Bottomswell*
This fish boss is a flying creature, which means your melee physical attacks can't reach it. Focus on magic, summon(Chocobo/Mog) or ranged attack characters (possble with long range materia). Keep your Hps above 200. Use limit breaks when you get the chance! Also this gaint fish may use a bubble to trap your character, your character is still able to enter commands, but his Hp will drop constantly until the bubble is removed. To remove the bubble use magic attacks on the bubble (Cursor slightly above the affected character). Keep the pressure up, the giant fish will fall eventually. You get a power wrist after you won.

-It's not over yet!-
Unfortunately, it's not over yet, no, I didn't mean another boss is going to tag along and fight you. I mean the girl was knocked out by the giant fish and is unconscious. Just follow what instructions you were given, and it shall be over. Head back to the town entrance and talk to the old lady standing outside the house. Follow her in and rest inside. Head out of the house, go where all your party members are, then up the stairs. Half-way up the stairs, the young girl will come out and give you a new summon materia!

***Tips***

- If you want your characters to receive extra protection, move your character back. To do this, go to menu, select order, when your cursor is on your character select it 2 times, your character box will move slightly to the right, which means during battles, this character will be positioned in the back. Although you take half damage from enemies, you do half damage to enemies too, except for ranged attacks and magic. You also also do this during a battle by moving your cusor to the left then select 'change' when your character Active Time Bar is full.(ATB) Enemies do gain/ suffer this advantage/ disadvantage too.

- During combat use the menu button to switch to another character(whose Active Time Bar[ATB] is full) to let him/ her act first.

- Sell off unwanted weapons or armor such as when you got a better weapon or armor, sell off the old one. Be careful! Some Weapons/ Armor are rare once you sell them, there is no way you can get them back! (Usually rare Weapons/ Armor sell off at only 1 gil)

- Take a good look at materia growth, some are normal, some are double, some are triple and there is even none! These terms simply means the AP you get for your materia, where it's normal, double, triple or not at all! Materias that are not equiped do not gain AP.

- Troublesome to unequip your materia then equip again just to transfer the materia to other character? There is even a simpler way to do it! Just go to menu, select materia, move your cursor to "arrange" then select it, then select exchange, you can do your transfering of materia here!

- You can produce another materia of the same type by mastering the materia!

- Critical damage occours when an attack deals double damage, depending only on luck. However, enemies also can do Critical damage! ouCh!

- You can reserve your fully charged limit guage (or not fully charged) to the next battle. And also keep in mind that the higher the level of your Limit Break is, the harder it is to get it fully charged.

- Keep in mind that when your character next level of limit break becomes available (example from level 1 to 2 or from level 2 to 3), you need to manually set your current level limit break to the next level (or desired level) from menu then Limit. Keep in mind also that the higher the Limit Break level, it is harder to charge it full.

- Party members that are not fighting will receieve half the amount of total of experience you get after battles.

- Barrier and magic barrier reduces physical damage and magic damage by half taken respectively, however if you cast cure or healing types of spells on your party with magic barrier active, the effectiveness of healing spell is reduced by half also!

- You can't charge your limit gauge by damaging yourself.

- If you want your limit gauge to charge up faster, force yourself to 'Fury' status, or use 'hyper item' on your character. Your limit Gauge will charge faster and you do double damage! At the cost of reduced accurracy.
