Qualifications:

Duties:
1. To assist in construction of probes for cytoskeletal function. Responsibilities include microscopy of gene expression, biochemical studies on protein-protein interaction, and research on protein and nucleotide probes. Requires previous experience with molecular biology techniques, biochemistry, and cell culture. Must be capable of performing research under limited supervision.
2. To perform molecular biology and genetics studies on the role of TGF beta receptors in signal transduction, using mouse and cell culture models. Requires the ability to work independently and as a team member, interest in working with animals, and ability to learn new techniques. Previous lab experience using standard techniques in molecular and cell biology preferred.
3. To participate in transcription profiling of biologically active small molecules using DNA microarrays. Requires some experience using DNA microarrays, RNA and/or small molecules.
4. To work on a team to develop a new generation of insecticides which have a very narrow target range, to prevent collateral damage to the environment. Responsibilities include cloning and analyzing genes in Drosophila, contributing to the immediate goal of understanding the developmental biology of the system being studied. Requires previous lab experience using standard techniques in molecular and cell biology.
5. To work on microfabrication of DNA microdevices to be used for the Human Genome Project. Requires experience in a research laboratory or cleanroom setting. Previous experience in optical lithography and microfabrication preferred.

Grantwriter-Phila. Regional Performing Arts Center
Regional Performing Arts Center, opening in December 2001 in Philadelphia, seeks a highly qualified, talented, and motivated Prospect Researcher and Grantswriter to assist with major capital building and endowment campaigns, annual support programs, and special funding and sponsorship projects.
Responsibilities
Prospect Research: Prepare profiles for solicitations leading to major gift and grant commitments. Identify and research new campaign prospects. Build and maintain library of research publications and other resources.
Grantswriting: Write letters of inquiry and prepare written proposals to major funding sources. Write other selected correspondence. Manage stewardship calendar and prepare stewardship reports.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher; three years or more experience demonstrating proven prospect research skills; knowledge of published research resources and online research databases; familiarity with Raisers Edge, Word, Excel (PC); three or more years experience in grantswriting; excellent written, oral, and organizational skills; experience in Philadelphia not-for-profit community desirable; ability to work under pressure and in teamwork environment.

Duties: Support faculty research in a number of areas, including real estate, public policy, and urban economics. Job responsibilities include collecting and maintaining databases, performing a variety of statistical and econometric analyses, writing research reports, and providing research-related programming support. Independent thinking, a thorough understanding of economics, and self-motivation are highly valued in performing these functions.
Qualifications: BA/BS in Econ, Stat, Finance, Math, Computer Science or another closely related discipline; previous experience as research assistant or pursuing independent research is preferred; computer-programming skills are necessary; ability to analyze data and write reports required.
We anticipate that the successful candidate would work at the Center for up to three years before going on to graduate programs or careers in real estate, finance, economics, or related disciplines.
