| Your Book of shadows and your Alter |
| A witches book of shadows and alter are very personall to them. We keep a record of all the spells we've done, and our expiemce with them, as well as a daily journal. This is called a Book of shadows. Many witches have lot of other things in their book of showdows. It should reflect you, so have fun creating it! Your alter is where you keep all you magickal supplies, and preform magickal workings. It can be a table, a big rock, anything. You can keep it out all the time, or put it away when your not useing it. |

| There are certain tools of witchcraft. You will keep these on your alter, or with you all the time. Athame- usually a dull knife with a black handle. Some witches prefer to use swords. Use what ever suits you the best. The athame is used to command power and direct energy while doing a ritual. This stands for intellegence, right thinking, and calculations. Bell- used to invoke goddess, and to signify the begining and end of rituals. Find a bell tone that is pleasing to u and most discribes you and reflects you. bolline- used to cut things for example: herbs, plants, wand, and for ensribing symbols on candels etc used in magickal practices. Broom- no, not to fly on. This is used to sweep your magickal working place to sweep away the negitivity. Cauldron- used to make oills and potions. It is most fo the time black, wiht three legs. Chalice- is the sign of fertillity and emotion. it can a cup made of brass, silver, crystal, or again, anything that reflects you. It is used in diedication at ceremonies and holiddays to honer god and goddesses. Pentacle- a five pointed start surrounded by a circle. This si the symbol of protection in rituals. The top point represents spirt, ruling over al the world. The other 4 points represent all the other elements, earth, air, fire and water. for info, visit my elements page. Wand- used for focasing energy and drawing ritual circles. See the ritual page. A brach off a tree will work just fine. You might wnat to decorate it if it suits you as well. Be creative, once agin, make it reflect you as a person. Keep a good stock of the following stuff on your alter, or around the house: ~candle holders ~candels of lots of colors ~insence of many scents ~a compass ~lots of colors of thread ~herbs ~spices ~dried plants ~salt ~lots of jars and bottles handy to store herbs and different oils |
