| Over 300 acres of designated parkland surrounds this beautiful site that is no more than 1 mile from downtown Traverse City! A complete list of the flora and fauna on the site is available. The historic front lawn of approximately 20 acres is home to many non-native tree species that thrive in this area due to the "bowl" effect that the bay has on the weather. Wildlife is abundant and the many species of birds have been documented and that list is avialable at the Grand Traverse Commons Redevelopment Corporation. Much work has ensued on the spiderweb of trails located throughout the parkland. This land is truly a jewel to the community of Traverse City. |
