98 custom
My 98 custom had no problems coming right out of the box. I gassed her up and shot a few balls.
Accuracy:
My first observation was that the stock barrel stunk. It was really terrible. I suggest to anyone who buys a 98 custom to get an after market barrel A.S.A.P. It shot a cluster of six balls in an 8-inch group at 50 feet. The stock barrel also broke a ton of balls. I was using PMI Premium paint too. Which usually has a tougher shell then smart paint ECT.
(Durability was ranked a month after opening the 98c)
Durability:
I loved this markers durability. It went threw mud, rain, and cold over the first month I had it. That was after Christmas when I first got it and opened it up. It has taken only one scratch do to my parent dropping a screwdriver on it! But no harm done on the field or while sliding in bunkers and crawling threw bushes.
Cleaning:
The 98 has no quick disconnect pin so youre in trouble if you and a ball chop on the field. It is held together by various screws. This takes time to take the screws out and clean the marker. The first time I did it took me 10 min! Now, after time, I can clean it in 4 min.
Over all I like this new 98 it has some spots already ready for upgrades and that's what I like. A marker I can keep around a while! I rate this marker a 10 out of 10. I love it!
