Tank
The SCORPION TANK can be either your best friend or your worst enemy.  The TANK itself is a sight to behold, being by far the biggest vehicle in the game, sporting a 90mm HV (High Velocity) expolsive charge, and not to mention a chain gun near or equivalent to the gun mounted on the WARTHOG.  The TANK can easily take out a WARTHOG without breaking a sweat.  The only real downfall of the TANK is that it is the slowest vehicle in the game, and easily spotted. Because of its slow speed and enormous size, it is not an impossible feat for a pedestrian with grenades and good aim to take out a tank. When driving the tank it is sometimes often difficult to spot any ground forces, so in order to help bring them into view, always keep the chain gun firing, if you hit an enemy ground force, their shield will light up like a christmas tree, and then your main gun can put the first present under the tree, a 90mm tank shell, he sure won't be having a Happy New Year! When facing a pedestrian you have about a 75% survival rate, when facing a WARTHOG you have about a 99% survival rate (only a Newb would lose to a JEEP.)
The GHOST on the other hand is a very crafty and almost covert vehicle. A GHOST can relatively easily take out the TANK if it gets behind it, because the GHOST fires a "PLASMA" type weapon, it will "STUN" your turrent making it nearly impossible to turn the turrent and thus get a shot off. If you find yourself in a position such as this, don't try to turn the tank turrent and kill the GHOST, instead the  only thing you can do is get out of the TANK. You have a better chance of survival on foot than you do in the TANK.
When you are faced with a TANK vs. TANK situation, the one with the better shot angle usually prevails.  It basically comes down to skills and knowing how to position yourself on the map,
ex.) use hills, trees, rocks to cover yourself from the enemy TANK fire. If by chance you survive the first shot the enemy fires on you, act QUICKLY, you only have about FOUR seconds until his big turrent recharges, and you don't want to be in an open, uncovered area ready to fire, and find yourself dead because you failed to take advantage of the situation!
Finally, one of the biggest killers of TANKs, the
SNIPER! A sniper can take out a TANK with ONE SHOT! There is no sure fire way to protect yourself from a sniper. The only thing you can do is OBSERVE the most likely places a sniper would be, and try to keep the BACK of the TANK to those places, since the sniper can only eliminate a TANK if he can see the front of the TANK. **NOTE: a sniper can easily change his position in order to take the tank or worse, there may be more than one sniper each positioned at a different area making it next to impossible to keep your BACK to both snipers!
