"Krosnicki" supposedly is a surname from the village of Krosnice in Poland , but the village names do not appear on maps as they used to . "Sobina" is the other name I am researching . I am very impressed with the information available. I am confused however about the two provinces listed as Wroclaw and Walbrzych. Looking for information on my Polish family tree. Recently found out that Karlowski was a name change for my Great Grandfather who was an intelligence officer in the Polish army with the name of Sarnowski. Valentine and Hedwig Karlowski and three children sought protection from Germany in the US at the t rn of the century (1900). They were given a new name and came in through Maryland and came immediately to Detroit, Michigan to start a farm in Romeo, Michigan. It is thought they originated from Pozen.

Just another note. The name that I am looking for is Christian Nuske (possibly Nueske, Nugoke) His wife's name was Caroline Rannow(or Ramro or Rannanw). Their children; Carl, August, Julius. Julius may have been born in Neuendorf, Pommern. They came to America around 1881. ANy help is appreciated.
