The meeting was opened with the recitation of the Girl Scout Promise

The Association II meeting is scheduled for March 16 at Bedford Presbyterian Church, with the Annual meeting scheduled for April 19 and 20 at the Holiday Inn Select, Lynchburg, VA. You must pre-register and pay for lunch in advance. Registration forms may be found in the VA Skyline.

Deirdre Serio explained the Lynchburg Service Unit 90th Anniversary service project. All troops are asked to collect non-perishable food and toiletries to turn in at the April Service Unit meeting for the Lynchburg Area Food Bank. The age level that contributes the most items, will receive a patch for each girl.

The April Service Unit meeting is scheduled for the 2nd Thursday of April. April 11th.

Northwind Stables - horse clinics are scheduled for March 20th, April 24th and May 11th.

Girl Scout Ballpark Sleepover is scheduled for June 22nd (raindate: June 29th) at the Lynchburg Hillcat ballfield. The girls will attend the baseball game and then spend the night in tents (which you bring) on the baseball field.

The Globetrotters will be at the Vines Center on March 30th. Tickets are $15. Girl Scouts will receive a $5.00 discount and will be allowed to stay after the game to meet the team. You must contact Jeanette Wilson for the necessary paperwork.

First Aid training is scheduled for March 23rd at Timberlake United Methodist Church. Contact Debbie Wertz at the Salem office.

An Easter egg hunt is scheduled for March 23rd at Point of Honor. This event is sponsored by Kids Haven. Contact Marion Stump for more information.

Connie Hensley announced that camp registration forms would be mailed out on April 1. Please inform your troop parents to check the mail for the lavender camp flyer. The outside of these forms are NOT marked CAMP. If you or someone in your troop receives a flyer and are not planning on attending, please return them to Connie.

3 adult leaders are still needed for Mini-camp (June 28th- 30). Contact Connie if you are interested in helping.

Jennifer Mann spoke regarding an Islamic Girl Scout troop in Charlotte County, who after the 9/11 crisis has seen their membership dwindle from 50 girls to 8. This troop is planning an Islamic Holiday Education Day at Camp Sac on April 20th from noon - 2. This is for Juniors and above and no males are allowed. There will be a fashion show, native foods, etc. Contact Jennifer Mann for more information.

After Announcements, a game of "Girl Scout Jeopardy" was played to commemorate the Girl Scout 90th anniversary. Refreshments were served, including a Birthday cake!!
