REMEMBERING
Remembering
my childhood, a time not so long ago,
When
life moved at a slower pace and left me room to dream and grow.
With
picnics, swing sets, Barbies, beaches and water parks,
I
felt protected all the time; never had to risk my heart.
It's
scary to see that time flies by so fast;
That
what I used to call the present has now become my past.
But
when I look into the mirror, what I see looking back at me
Is
the face of an aspiring young woman where the little girl used to be....
