| Dragon Slayer To start this quest you must have the following: 32 Quest Points 34 Smithing (or 90 nails) 3 Planks Unfired Bowl Wizard Mind Bomb Lobster Pot Silk At least 12,000 gp or 33 Magic and 2,000 gp. A hammer. Recommended Skills and Items: At least 40 Attack, Defense, and Strength. At least all Mithril armor. A single-handed Runite Weapon or Adamantite Battle - Axe. At least 30 Hit Points. At least 40 Tuna. Decent Prayer. Anti - Dragon Shield. This is by far the hardest non - member quest. It is not recommended to attempt this quest unless you qualify with the skills above. Start this quest by talking to the Guild Master at the Legend's Guild. After talking about getting a Rune Platemail, go visit Oziach near Edgeville, which is north of Barbarian Village. He sends you on a quest to slay Elvarg the Dragon, to prove yourself worthy of buying his armors. You have to find the three map pieces to Crandor Isle, a ship, and a captain to sail it for you. A tedious job indeed, but for that Rune Platemail do it. For the first map piece, be sure to get the key for Melzar's Maze from Oziach first and bring 20 tunas. Next, go to Melzar's Maze, a mansion located near Rimmington. Use the key on the door to unlock it. Kill the Giant Rats until you get a red key from one. Then head through the north-western door. Next, kill the Ghosts until you get the orange key. Use the key on the second door south from the north of the house. Go up the first ladder you find and kill skeletons until you get a yellow key. Go to the most western door and follow the hallway to the dead end and go down the ladders to the basement. kill the zombies until you get a blue key and enter the northern door. Attack Melzar the Mad and kill him. Use the purple key on the northern door and attack the Lesser Demon. Once you kill him, use the green key on the green door and open the chest. Search the chest and get the first map piece. The second map piece is easy to get. Head to the Port Sarim Jailjouse and Speak to Wormbrain. He'll offer you to buy the map piece for 10,000 gp. You could do this but its not very budget-wise is it? If you have 33 Magic, just simply kill Wormbrain with arrows or spells and use Telekinetic Grab to get the map piece. The last map piece is the second easiest. Visit The Oracle on the Ice Mountain and he'll tell you that you have to go to the Dwarven Mine under the mountain with a lobster pot, a sheet of silk, an unfired bowl, and a Wizard's Mind Bomb and go through a normally locked door. Find the door, go through it and search the treasure chest for the last map piece! Now, take 2000 gp, 90 Steel Nails, a hammer, and 3 planks (Found in level 18 wilderness; look for a graveyard to the east; head north from Varrock for the best results) to Port Sarim and go to the bottom of the dock and find a guy selling a boat. Buy it and go into the boat. Go down the ladder and use the planks on the hole. Finally grab those map pieces and head to Draynor Village. Find Ned (North of the bank) and ask him to sail you to Crandor Ilse. He says he'll meet you at your boat. NOTE: A good shield for this quest would be the Anti - Dragon Shield a.k.a the Dragonfire Shield. If you dont already have one, talk to Duke Horacio at Lumbridge Castle and ask for it. Meet Ned at your boat and ask him to take you to Crandor. Once there, head to the center of the island and go down the hole. Find Elvarg and kill him. Dont forget your tuna! After killing him, you have beat the quest! You get 18,650 Strength and Defense experience and the automatic ability to wear Dragonhide body armor and Rune Platemail if you can't already! NOTE: The only way out from Crandor is through some lesser demons, and a secret wall or some kind of teleportation. |
