Dr. Stylianides was introduced to both rehabilitative and athletic environments at a young age. As a child he experienced a four year hip joint disability which he overcame through a well-designed physical therapy program. Despite adversities, he later competed in sports both nationally and internationally. Throughout his early years, he searched for a way to contribute to human performance research. As a result, he specialized in anatomy and biomechanics, applying his knowledge to both sport and clinical settings. Dr. Stylianides has eagerly joined the team of experts at the Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine as the Coordinator of the state-of-the-art Human Performance Lab, and will contribute his expertise and vision to reach the highest goals of quality of service to the community through the Institute.
