Do More Pet Fair
Gold Award Project

Karen's Gold Award Project was Pet Care Awarenss in the Community. Ascension parish has grown and so has the number of children who share their lives with pets.The targeted participants were children in grades 4th through 6th.  Guest speakers were  a veterinarian and a groomer who spoke with the children about the responsibilites of caring for a pet.  Several fun workshops were set up as learning tools.  Each child made a pinecone bird feeder, decorated a "bone-fide" cookie, created a scarpbook page and two bandana door prizes were awarded.

The event was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall #2657 on Irma Boulevard in Gonzales.
Guest speakers were Dr. Katherine Beier and Eric Kimbrough of the Shendandoah Veterinanrian Clinic in Baton Rouge.
Donations of food and supplies for craft items were made by Winn Dixie and  Albertson's.
Special Memories Scrapbook Store off Perkins Rd in Baton Rouge for the free useage of the dye cut machine.
