For some reason that over the years has been forgotten, Brenda didn't have her camera as ever ready during these two years.

In
2002-2003, we went to the Corn Maze with Brownie Troop 140, earned two Interest Patches:  Conflict Resolution and All About Birds. An orinthologist from the Baton Rouge Audubon Society taught us about mirgratory birds in Louisiana when we went to the LSU lakes area. And of course, we sold cookies and had booth sales.

In
2003-2004,  we held a troop fundraiser garage sale (which ended abruptly when tornado weather moved in. Needless to say, we didn't earn much money, only $36. We donated the rest of the items to Goodwill.) We held a troop food drive, volunteered as workers at the Baton Rouge Food Bank when we them brought our donations, and donated some of our own money. We volunteered for APAWS on adoption day at PetsMart. Sydney and Brittney volunteered at the Audubon Council sponsored Brownie Tea event at Bittersweet Landing. We earned two interest patches, Pets and Reading. Kat planned and led a Pets Interst Patch meeting and invited a veterinarian who gave us tips on pet care. Sydney planned and led a Reading Interest Patch meeting. We had our Christmas party at DeAngelo's in Dutchtown and attended a scrapbook class at Special Memories in Baton Rouge. We sold cookies and held two booth sales at Walmart in Gonzales.

While selling cookies at Murray's in St Amant, Karen found an envelope on the ground that contained over $100 in cash. She turned it into the store manager. Later she found out that it belonged to an elderly lady who had cashed her social security check and was very distraught about losing her money. Karen is a fine example of living by the Girl Scout Promise & Law.
