Investiture and Rededication Ceremony – At the opening of our meeting, we will have a brief Investiture and Rededication Ceremony to welcome our new Girl Scout Troop members and to reaffirm our current members as Junior Girl Scouts. Please have your girl try to memorize the Girl Scout Promise and Girl Scout Law for this ceremony. Girls new to scouting and our troop will receive pins during this ceremony.

October 30, 2007

Secret Sister Drawing – Please be sure to attend the meeting on October 30rd so that you can draw a name for the Secret Sister exchange. We will do the exchange during our November 6th meeting.

October 30, 2007

Halloween Party – Girls may come in costume on that night, and a special snack will be provided for the troop.

November 3, 2007

Nut Sale – Our first order for nuts has been placed, and the product should be coming in on Saturday, November 3rd. Please see Michelle for details of when and where to pick up your orders. Don’t forget to collect money from customers before delivering the product.

November 10, 2007

Girl Jam 2007 – Michelle has submitted our RSVP for this event. We are awaiting confirmation from the event sponsor that it has been received. The Girl Jam will be from 1pm to 4pm, at Kimball Park in National City. Please see the event flyer for more details.

November 12, 2007

Cents-ability workshop – This workshop will be held on a Monday, but the schools are closed this day in observance of Veteran’s Day. The workshop runs from 1pm to 4pm, and introduces participants to financial concepts and beginning budgeting and saving strategies. Girls will earn the Money Sense Badge for participation. Our troop has decided to attend. If you would like your scout to participate, please bring $6 to Michelle no later than TUESDAY OCTOBER 30. Please see the event flyer for more details.

December 1, 2007

Holiday Wreath for Wild Animal Park – We have put our troop into the drawing for the opportunity to decorate a holiday wreath. The wreaths will be displayed at the Wild Animal Park’s Holiday Festival. If our troop is chosen, we will need to decorate the wreath and return it to the Wild Animal Park by December 1, 2007. The girls will get tickets to view the display after the wreath is turned in. Start thinking of some ideas for our wreath: the theme this year is friendship and African Safari.

January 13, 2008

Sea World Cookie Kickoff – This event runs from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at Shamu Stadium. It is a very popular event, so any girls that wish to participate must let Michelle know as soon as possible. Siblings and non-girl scout members will not be allowed to attend. The event will help us, as a new troop, learn some important selling skills and tips for a successful “cookie season”. The registration deadline is DECMEBER 3, 2007, however this event will fill up fast. The cost for this activity is $6 per girl scout.   See the event flyer for more details.
