Investiture and Rededication Ceremony
– At the opening of our meeting, we will have a brief Investiture and
Rededication Ceremony to welcome our new Girl Scout Troop members and to
reaffirm our current members as Junior Girl Scouts. Please have your girl try
to memorize the Girl Scout
Promise and Girl Scout Law for this ceremony. Girls new to scouting and
our troop will receive pins during this ceremony.

Secret
Sister Drawing – Please be sure to attend the meeting on October 30rd
so that you can draw a name for the Secret Sister exchange. We will do the
exchange during our November 6th meeting.

Halloween
Party – Girls may come in costume on that night, and a special snack will be provided for the troop.

Nut Sale – Our first
order for nuts has been placed, and the product should be coming in on
Saturday, November 3rd. Please see Michelle for details of when
and where to pick up your orders. Don’t forget to collect money from
customers before delivering the product.

Girl Jam 2007 – Michelle has submitted our RSVP for this event. We are awaiting confirmation from the event sponsor that it has been received. The Girl Jam will be from 1pm to 4pm, at Kimball Park in National City. Please see the event flyer for more details.

Cents-ability
workshop – This workshop will be held on a Monday, but the schools
are closed this day in observance of Veteran’s Day. The workshop runs
from 1pm to 4pm, and introduces participants to financial concepts and
beginning budgeting and saving strategies. Girls will earn the Money Sense Badge for participation. Our troop has decided to attend. If you would like your scout
to participate, please bring $6 to Michelle no later than TUESDAY OCTOBER 30.

Holiday
Wreath for Wild
Animal Park
– We have put our troop into the drawing for the opportunity to
decorate a holiday wreath. The wreaths will be displayed at the Wild Animal
Park’s Holiday
Festival. If our troop is chosen, we will need to decorate the wreath and
return it to the Wild
Animal Park
by December 1, 2007. The girls will get tickets to view the display after the
wreath is turned in. Start thinking of some ideas for our wreath: the theme
this year is friendship and African Safari.

Sea World
Cookie Kickoff – This event runs from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at Shamu
Stadium. It is a very popular event, so any girls that wish to participate
must let Michelle know as soon as possible. Siblings and non-girl scout
members will not be allowed to attend. The event will help us, as a new
troop, learn some important selling skills and tips for a successful
“cookie season”. The registration deadline is DECMEBER 3, 2007, however this event will fill up fast. The cost for
this activity is $6 per girl scout. See the event
