The First Father's Day

The first Father's Day was observed on June 19, 1910 in Spokane Washington. At about the same time in various towns and cities across America other people were beginning to celebrate a "Father's Day." In 1924 President Calvin Coolidge supported the idea of a national Father's Day.

Finally in 1966 President Lyndon Johnson signed a presidential proclamation declaring the 3rd Sunday of June as Father's Day.

Father's Day has become a day not only to honor your father, but all men who act as a father figure. Stepfathers, Grandfathers, Uncles, Brothers and adult male friends are all honored on Father's Day.

Anyone Can Be A Father But It Takes Someone Special To Be A Dad

A father is one of the two most important people in a child's life. He is looked up to and respected. He's someone who's taught you to follow your dreams and try to be all you can be. He's someone who listens to your point of view (though sometimes he may disagree). He's someone who loves you no matter what happens and sees you through good times and bad. He's someone who's there for you time after time - He's your mentor and friend...He's your Dad. They receive so much love but don't always receive the recognition they deserve. This makes Father's Day the perfect way to say thank you to your dad. Get him a gift or send him one of our greeting cards ,a thought about him will mean a lot, to him. Father's Day is a day of commemoration and celebration of Dad. It is a day to not only honor your father, but all men who have acted as a father figure in your life - whether as Stepfathers, Uncles, Grandfathers, or "Big Brothers." It is a time of burnt toast and breakfast in bed, family gatherings, crayon scribbled "I Love You and, of course, that lovely new tie!

A THOUGHT FOR YOU ON FATHER'S DAY

If a child lives with criticism, He learns to condemn.
If a child lives with hostility, He learns to fight.
If a child lives with ridicule, He learns to be shy.
If a child lives with shame, He learns to feel guilty.
If a child lives with tolerance, He learns to be patient.
If a child lives with encouragement, He learns confidence.
If a child lives with praise, He learns to appreciate.
If a child lives with fairness, He learns justice.
If a child lives with security, He learns to have faith.
If a child lives with approval, He learns to like himself.
If a child lives with acceptance and friendship,
He learns to find love in the world.
A father is more than a 100 headmasters Happy fathers day

A Poem For Dad

How much I love you I can't say:
It's more than words can hold.
You're all at once my rich, red clay,
My potter and my mold.
Yours the words that shaped my voice,
The spirit within mine.
Yours the will that shaped my choice,
My fortune, and my sign.
How lucky I was to have had you
At the core of me!
Wise and good, you always knew
Just what I could be.
And so I came to be someone
Whom I could be proud of.
For this I give my swollen sum
Of gratitude and love.
