I
Play, Therefore I Am
by

"Okay,
I'll sneak. No offense, this Decartes character we've
brought on board is smart and all, but I'm bored."
Beat complained.
"Un
huh, we're gonna be here for a while." Flare
added.
The
Sneak Force were in the early 1600's, they had saved
Rene Decartes the great philosopher from the clutches
of the Greys. However, with the long wait ahead, they
needed something to entertain them.
"He's
not like some of the other characters we've met. He's
really interested in Roswell and Zip, barely talks
to us." Kidd says.
"Well,
he is a brilliant mind you know!" Zip defends.
The
Sneak Force laugh, as they are reminded of video gaming
when they heard Zip speak.
"Mr.
Decartes." Kidd called out, on his zipsnick.
Decartes was in the galley looking through all the
food. He looked into his Zipsnick which translated
his French so the Sneak Force could understand. Kidd
continued, "We are going to be upstairs on the
bridge playing a video game, okay?"
"Video
game?" Decartes tone inquired.
"Oh
boy, Mr. Curious better not ruin our game." Edge
warned the others.
"Shhhh
Edge, give him a chance." Flare said. "Mr.
Decartes, come on up and you can play along if you
like."
Decartes,
with his long hair, bit of a mustache, large nose
and funny cloths of his time period, was on the bridge
of the ship within moments. "Video game."
he stated with his French accent.
Decartes
was so excited by all the the details around him,
he didn't bother sitting, instead he stood as he played.
Beat commented, "Sneaky, that's how you play
arcade games." Decartes didn't understand, but
Beat was still just as proud of him. The two of them
played standing infront of the big view screen.
"He
picks it up pretty fast." Sketch commented. As
it didn't take long for Decartes to play the multiplayer
rpg game they were playing.
As
they played, Rene Decartes, didn't miss a trick. He
turned to Beat and asked something in French, Beat
stood there looking at him, as Beat said, "Zip...
help."
"He's
asking who players #7 and #8 are." Zip translated.
"Oh,
#7 is Zip, you met her, she plays along with us too.
And #8, well, that's Too Sneaky. You haven't met him,
he's not always that 'personable'." Beat explained.
"O'Wasid"
could be heard in the walls of Roswell.
"Tooooo
Sneeaaakaayy." Flare said flirtatiously.
"O'Wasid,"
again was heard a bit closer this time.
Grumbles
and mumbles could be heard in a corridor near where
Decartes was standing. Decartes looked over with interest,
and paused the game.
With
immediate speed and quickness, Flare snapped, "Don't
pause my game."
Decartes
appologized with a smile, and with some skill continued
to play non interupted as he also pays attention to
where the sounds are coming from, they resumed the
game, as Too Sneaky appeared from his cooridor.
Rene
Decartes was facinated by the mechanical gremlin.
Of course Too Sneaky wasn't facinated by Decartes,
he sat on the edge of the opening and simply kept
on gaming.
"Is
it alive?" Decartes inquired.
"O'Wasid!"
Too Sneaky demanded.
"Is
he answering me?" Decartes asked the others.
Kidd
said, "Yes, in his way. He's saying he's playing.
He's gaming. I guess he's making a point."
Beat
adds, "I play, so.."
"I
play, therefore I am." Edge blurts out.
"That's
a sneaky way to put it." Sketch remarks.
As
if the world became visible to Decartes all at once.
With a face of amazement, he said, "I think therefore,
I am."
