GSN nearing rock-bottom in 12-0 blanking by
White Chapel |
(AP) - In games against rivals, emotion can often swing momentum in favor of
the underdog. In Thursday night's game against White Chapel, however,
GSN just didn't seem to play with any resemblance of a spark.
"The Kids" had only 5 runners reach base through-out the course of
the game. Jake Steiner's two-out first inning triple—along
with Jon Diegan's advance to third base in the second— were as close
as GSN would get to scoring for the entire ballgame.
Gentle Shepherd was plagued by a disastrous second inning in the field that
saw White Chapel send 12 batters to the plate and score 8 runs. Gary
Bonanno pitched the entire game for GSN.
In response to his team's progress just beyond the midway point of
the season, manager Tim Vass says, "It's like we're trying to climb a hill,
but we're just not getting any closer to the top. Things can only get
better from here."
