6-0 GSN lead goes to waste,
second consecutive one-run loss follows |
(AP) - After letting numerous chances to win game one against West Middlesex
fall by the wayside, GSN came out with a fury in game two. In what has
been the story for Gentle Shepherd softball all season long, however, the
early advantage would not result in victory.
Pitching troubles for West Middlesex helped "The Kids" put six runs
on the scoreboard in the first inning. A nice grab in right center to
end the first would turn out to save West Middlesex—leaving
the bases loaded for GSN and preventing any more damage from being done.
West Middlesex would slowly chip away at the lead from that point on—not
gaining their first advantage until the very last inning at 9-8. In
the last of the seventh Gentle Shepherd was able to get the tying run to
second base with just one out. "The Kids" did not succeed in getting
the run home, however, dropping their record to 3-7 on the season. GSN
looks to regroup and improve their mark in match-ups against New Life
Baptist and heated rival White Chapel next week. |
