Shenango Valley Baptist scores early and
often in 16-5 drubbing of GSN |
(AP) - In game one of a rare Saturday doubleheader against Shenango Valley
Baptist, GSN definitely proved that they are not a morning team.
"The Kids" were never really in it—trailing 9-4
before the opposition exploded for seven runs while sending 13 players to
bat in the fourth inning. The patient Shenango Valley Baptist hitters
took advantage of eight free passes to keep pressure on the Gentle Shepherd
defense all game long.
Tim Vass hit a towering inside-the-park
homer to right center and Shawn Shanor scored twice for GSN. Don
Shaffer made his season debut on the mound for Gentle Shepherd in a losing
effort .
