"The Kids" strike early and often in rout of
New Virginia |
(AP) - In the nightcap of their doubleheader against New Virginia, the
Gentle Shepherd softball team looked to shrug off their lackadaisical play
from game one. GSN made sure they did that—and they
did so in a big way.
"The Kids" scored three runs in the first inning and never trailed
in a game highlighted by a season-high nine run fourth frame. GSN sent
13 batters to the plate in the fourth—marked with a bit of mystery in that
only 2 outs were thought to have been made in the inning. Bill
Steiner, Gary Bonanno, Tim Vass, and Rich Thompson each scored three times
for Gentle Shepherd, while Gary Bonanno pitched a complete game in picking
up the victory on the mound. |
